This footballer has looked after his future by investing in property whilst his wing partner has kindly donated all of his wages to the bookmakers

Who are these people you’re talking about?

So the left are up in arms about trumps "China virus" comment.
What are their thoughts on this?

I expect their thoughts could be that Spanish Flu may well have started in Kansas

So pray tell why the supermarkets are going on a recruitment spree?

Come on Robert Peston.

Just seen this Rudi. It’s because the supply side is desperately trying to keep up with the ridiculous unprecedented demand pressure!

I’ve got a masters in economics but this is supply and demand basics which you learn in the first class of GCSE business studies!

You and SS should probably go for another topic to make me look a tit on (it’s quite easy).

I know all about supply and demand and demand price elasticity etc thank you. I bet you’ve never been in a functioning business.

It’s actually supplying the shelves and demand but I can’t be bothered right now. Only rationing will fully sort the demand out and we haven’t got the time or the small shops to weigh out 3 ounces of stuff per person. In supermarkets the greedy will just get round the controls so it won’t go far enough.

The problem we have it’s delivered and goes straight onto the shelves rather than loads kept out the back, because there is no storage out the back. It isn’t needed until this and land is expensive in Britain.

Fairly senior in a large accountancy firm but don’t let that stop your preconceptions.

Your last paragraph is about store management rather than economics. And why should they be in charge of rationing what goes on the shop floor? There’s been several videos posted on here of shoppers turning almost rabid with stuff coming out of storage before it goes on the shelves.

The message needs to be for everyone to calm the f*ck down when it comes to buying stuff. The government tried to do exactly that with their press conference this afternoon.

Today could show how serious we the public are in trying to limit the spread.
Do not visit mum today as that could be the small price to pay for the ability to visit her in 2021.
We could be carriers without knowing it.
Please listen to the advice of the government.

Got back from Portugal yesterday and the mother-in-law needs her meals for the week (i'm making them as we speak) along with her pills and a few other provisions.
We'll be dropping off her dinners etc later along with some flowers.

That's lovely tux and great to hear.
Maybe on government advice try to avoid contact.
I wouldn't personally give the flowers and ask mum to stay in a separate room while you sort out stocking up the freezer with the meals.
No hugs might be recommended as well.
I will piss off and shut up if you want but keep mum safe as we only have one.
Once it's a bit safer for us you can get as close as you want but for now protect her by taking measures as recommended.
Stay safe mate.

Presume you don’t get on with her then if you’re going to have contact?
