Before he got injured and couldn't win his place back from AWB thereafter Ward was on the wane in a big way. He's decent cover st RB for a handful of games a season, but he cannot be allowed to play 38 league games there, he'll be ripped apart.

AWB will need replacing. Add that to the 2 strikers and 2 attacking midfielders we already need.

55 million isn't enough to plug the gaps. Should've kept him another season.

is ward a world beater, no...of course he isnt.

however, i feel you are doing him a dis-service
in your comments, i would personally argue that ward wouldnt struggle if he came back in full time, granted against the very best in the league he does get a hard time, but the other 15 teams he is more than comfortable playing against.

he has literally never (to my knowledge, i am happy to be proved wrong) had a shocker & embarrassed himself in a a palace shirt & only lost his place in the 1st team because a wonderkid came onto the scene in AWB. yes, AWB is better than wardy, but then hes the 2nd best full back in the league behind trent so hes better than an awful lot of players...thats no yardstick to beat wardy with.

Disgusting this allowed, money grabbing agent problems, so. the player show me the money!!

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: Crystal Palace defender has had 'head turned' by transfer rumours
Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka is "bound" to be affected by talk of a transfer to Manchester United, says England Under-21s boss Aidy Boothroyd.

Right-back Wan-Bissaka, 21, is reportedly wanted by United with talks ongoing over a potential £50m move.

He is currently at the European Under-21 Championship and scored an own goal in England's 2-1 loss to France.

"When that speculation is flying around it is bound to turn your head," said Boothroyd.

"For a young player - all he knows is Crystal Palace academy and Crystal Palace - it would be daft not to say that in some way he must think about it.

"What I will say is, because he doesn't say too much, you don't get to find out too much. He keeps things to himself and is a very private guy."

Dunno which player you're referring to, but it's not Joel Ward.

He was absolutely shocking for a good while, got skinned constantly. Never seen a right back concede so many crosses in my life. The most recent example is when we beat arsenal he stood off their goalscorer, just let him shoot.

He'll get isolated and murdered every game.

If AWB goes as is looking more and more likely, very little of that money will go on players or else why would we sell?

We will see a couple of average players come in including a now required right back.

Totally depressing. This club is still unable to compete financially at this level without selling it's finest and that will ultimately mean only one thing.

We must increase our capacity and fanbase and now.

I pray that the club is soon sold to people with the financial clout to make this happen before we disappear back to obscurity.

Where is your evidence that '' very little of the money will go on players '' ?

How can you comments on players coming into the club when you ( or anyone else ) don't even know who they are ??

If you're getting totally depressed over the sale of one player, it's as well you weren't a Southampton fan a few years back !

I think you will find that the club IS trying to increase the capacity - you seem to think Steve Parish can wave a magic wand and just make it happen !

Palace have been in the top two divisions for 42 years so I'm not sure how far back your '' obscurity '' goes.

I'm not Steve Parish's biggest fan but getting people with '' financial clout '' does not guarantee anything.
Indeed, have we not already been down that road with Harris and Blitzer ?

Doesn't mean he wasn't at fault.

If you look at almost every goal conceded there will be a fault from one player not marking, not tracking back etc so to blame Ward for one goal is a bit harsh

Excellent right back and he's Palace so he would fit back easily into the club.

Would be very happy to see this.

FFS. His off-field antics mean Liverpool will never touch him again and his performances at Bournemouth were pretty poor. I haven't seen any interest from them in signing him permanently.

Only late twenties but playing much older (a bit lie Ward in that respect)

Well NEILLO, it's just a hunch based on the fact we are supposed to be in debt and that is why we supposedly have to sell AWB in the first place.

And 'top two divisions'? There is only one top division worth mentioning in case you haven't noticed. No one cares about the Championship.

The current investors were obviously a desperation move by Parish and they have contributed sod all so far from what I can see.
