If Leicester lose their last three and get tonked again once or twice then subject to Toon not picking up more than three points we could finish ninth.

Not very likely but less improbable than finishing eighteenth.

Mods , do us a favour. Whenever either :

we pick up a single point

or

whenever either Southampton/Swansea fail to win a match.....

Lock the thread, close thread, open the champagne.

Champagne, yes. But the thread should continue, because the relegation scenario is still a valid and interesting topic. It should be moved to Football Talk though, if that’s possible.

Now that arsenal are out of the Europa league it looks like it could be curtains for Huddersfield with that looking like their only chance of picking up points definitely think they’ll go down now arsene will want to sign off on a high note with a full strength team no doubt

I don't think they do though. The players look absolutely gutless and spineless.

I know Arsenal fans have been calling for the Manager's head but I think they might be begging him back this time next year.

He setup perfectly over 2 legs against a tough team and should have destroyed them. Would have destroyed them with any other set of players.

They are cowards, their best player can't handle a big game scenario and they somehow only managed one shot on target last night despite setup to attack. There's only so much Wenger can do.

Yes, he wants and deserves a good send-off but he might finish 2018 with zero away points.

If I were Huddersfield this would be the game I target to get the necessary points to stay up.

Huddersfield are terrible. Even against a jaded Arsenal with a poor away record they will lose. Especially if Arsenal play the kids they used against Manure the other day. They all looked decent and didn't deserve to lose that game.

They've ignored all teams on 38, as well they should.

I just have a hunch that there might be a really surprising result featuring a relegation candidate which could significantly change the picture.Maybe more than 1 result !

Some factual errors in that article. For instance, West Brom ‘are the only team in the bottom 12 to win more than once in their past five matches.’ Unless I am mistaken, we are still in the bottom 12(?!) and we beat Brighton and Leicester in our last 3 alone.
