If anyone needs convincing that Biden needs to stand aside asap it’s this kind of thing that awaits the USA should Trump succeed:- I don’t believe for a moment that all of those ideas would be adopted but the very idea that they are even being discussed is scary enough. There would be chaos in the USA for 4 years if Trump got back in, and it would take many more years to recover and rebuild. This is not what the rest of the western world wants or can afford. Especially us, with our own fractured situation. The DMC needs to find a way to act. Relying on an individual to “do the right thing” isn’t working . It's funny how you are quick to laud "the will of the people" except where they will something you don't like. Millions and millions of Americans support these kind of policies. Obviously they are all less well-educated than you, but that's democracy innit?

Wisbech Those policies are not Trump’s and to suggest they are is very disingenuous. Typical left wing & BBC scaremongering which I’m disappointed to see you are only too happy to peddle. You are trying to paint a false narrative even if you try to qualify it. Edited by XKudu (12 Jul 2024 11.57am)

It was quite something listening to Biden's Nato speech (these guys seem to be meeting every couple of months) where he introduced Zelensky as President Putin. If I didn't try to keep the 'Funny' thread non political I'd have put it straight in there.

I know we all know it but the Democrats are in a right mess. They are going hammer and tongs trying to get Biden to step down and he's fighting them all the way. Quite something to watch....apparently according to a poll even New York is now becoming a battleground state.

And vice president Trump It's not even funny anymore. No way would he pass a test for Dementia. It's worrying that he's in this position. When it's worrying for his own party too, he has absolutely no chance of beating Trump.

As for Biden, I disagree, it is quite hilarious. I like to imagine occasionally that he's deliberately trolling the American populous just for laughs, or is perhaps a litmus test for just how far the powers that actually be can go with the American public. I also genuinely think that it is somewhat cruel that he is in that position. You only have to look at him speaking circa 20 years ago to see that it's not the same bloke (cognitively, not suggesting a body double/actor or something). Either way it's f**king nuts. It really is f**king nuts.

It’s a form of elder abuse and very sad to watch. Anyone who has seen a relative quickly deteriorating with cognitive impairment would agree. In many respects I blame his wife who seems to have a huge sway in his ‘decision making’ The Republicans are desperate he stays put as they know they have an easy win with him at the helm.

It does feel like that. The opprobrium any president is going to receive makes it seem as though he's being used as a decoy and a shield for whatever else is going on. I can never understand the real personal vitriol he receives, I almost feel like saying 'he must be suffering the most of anybody'. It really is nuts.
