Sweden getting hot again.
31 dead since friday and new rules being brought in.
Lockdown might happen there eventually.

Why don't you just watch the video, Cryst?

Are you afraid there might be something in it that makes you feel uncomfortable?

Well worth a look

For those of you wondering "which video?"

This one.

About 40 minutes long.

Ok. Sorry to hear of the death.

But, to be frank, only one person died out of an unmentioned number of high risk residents being treated by an unmentioned number of staff infected with the disease. The disease which is extraordinarily communicable and highly lethal. This indicates that if 73%(?) of deaths occured in care homes, and only one died in that particulr home, the threat to the wider population is miniscule. And that is with only 50% immunity. Without lockdowns, the immunity % would be higher.

I have no idea what you are talking about and suspect you don’t either. Just learn to trust people that have signed the hippocratic oath

And maybe read some facts. Here are some, the Lancet not the daily mirror I’m afraid. [Link]

Aww, is that because the R number may be lower than we were lead to believe?

Funny opening put down though. I would’ve laughed on the end of it.

The one thing I do not understand - which I think is happening - is why the Scientists that the Government uses are so keen to manipulate the facts and figures to justify their views and I would love to hear other opinions.
People are dying and this virus is horrible - those are indisputable facts.
After that it becomes less clear.
Some hospitals are struggling but the majority are just fine - why only use the worst examples in their lecturing to us and reporting to Boris?
Why not balance the bad with the good?
Why use modelling based on out of date figures that take no account of tier arrangements?
There are other examples as well of course as I see it.
They are almost being more political than the politicians in my opinion - they seem desperate to see only one action taken whereas they should work with the facts only and so far all of their modelling has been totally inaccurate.
Others thoughts would be appreciated.

Dolphin, I think the scientific term for the political decisions being made is termed "Pl55ing in the wind"

I disengage, I turn the page.

Dolphin’s points give people more reason to ignore rules.

Which is a bad thing.
Honesty would be best from the Scientific mob - straight facts to allow Government to make informed decisions.
Right now they are looking even more stupid than the Politicians!

I took the R number from the current ONS statistics

Probably you demand a recount, or that 'counting should stop' eh?
