Leaked document claims hospitals are 84% full (but last autumn the figure was 92%) With R rate already falling snd at 1 or below I think we can relax a bit. The problem is that because they’re not being straight, people will ignore it’s a lockdown.

Indeed, I know it seems like an extreme measure to basically test everybody in a whole region or country at the same time, but it's certainly a way to pinpoint a hell of a lot of cases (including many asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic ones), and isolate the right people rather than everybody. It's possibly a better way of potentially bringing down the numbers while keeping things ticking over than anything we've done. Isolating seems to be the issue. Why test yourself if you arnt prepared to isolate if you have it?

I got my homes wrong. This one had a death from, not with, Covid. Nice old bloke, one of the healthier ones. Ok. Sorry to hear of the death. But, to be frank, only one person died out of an unmentioned number of high risk residents being treated by an unmentioned number of staff infected with the disease. The disease which is extraordinarily communicable and highly lethal. This indicates that if 73%(?) of deaths occured in care homes, and only one died in that particulr home, the threat to the wider population is miniscule. And that is with only 50% immunity. Without lockdowns, the immunity % would be higher.

Apparently even being outdoors in the UK at this time of year won't give you enough, and maybe none at all, due to the sun's angle. So whilst the general advice might be well known, this is being updated because of the pandemic and doesn't yet appear to be. If you want to take an overdose of vit D Wisbech Eagle, knock yourself out. Medicine, for all the good it does, has a side effect. Apart from the side effects of each and every drug ever produced. It removes the need to evolve. Me, I'll trust that evolution has it covered, and humanity can manage to survive by learning to adapt to changes such as winter. I mean, we've been doing ok for a while.....

We still have nuff-nuffs in Oz who think the virus is a hoax? Where did they get that idea. Same place Mark Twain came from. have a nice day.

My argument is that different scientists are saying different things, and the Gov are taking advice from mathematicians and scientists who have got things spectacularly wrong in the past.
