Surprising that the benefits of vitamin D weren’t outlined in Doreen Lawrence’s investigation in the effects of Covid on the BAME community.

Or that cultures where people cover up head to toe and don't show any skin may contribute to vitamin D deficiency.

Clearly if you don't socialise in the usual way you won't catch communicable diseases so much. COVID is extraordinary in its capability to be transmitted. And if you are locked in and at risk you are likely (hopefully) to have others around you to look after you, e.g. if you have dementia.

A third of deaths have been in Care Homes. The Care Homes are 79% up on excess deaths. Do you really think they want their deaths put down to COVID? It is a commercial disaster. People die all the time in Care Homes, you have to be able to keep refilling them. We have half of our homes never having a COVID case, one that has had one and one that has had a COVID death. Guess which are fullest.

The most important point is why do you constantly question to such an extent the motivations of everyone involved in handling the crisis. Presumably you really do believe we are governed by lizard men.

It is a communicable disease though, yet you exclude it due to it's extraordinary capability of transmission. How convenient. Keep away from it, and you don't get it. Which vulnerable people are doing. So who's dying and inflating the figures?

We just tested staff in one of our Care Homes for antibodies. A home in which we have had zero Resident infection.

Blow me, 50% had antibodies! Many had not been aware of any illness. I am genuinely deeply surprised.

I have no idea of how many staff work there, so it could be as few as 20. However, this 'highly contagious' virus was at some point brought into the home, where the residents are presumably in the highest category of 'at risk' people. And nobody caught it. You are surprised. I am not. Maybe immunity levels are far higher than SAGE advises us.

That interview was censored and pulled off Facebook and Twitter. I think the same on YouTube or may be wrong. Unless it was allowed back on YouTube.

I prefer her, he's spare though cryrst, so go for it

But, did you watch the interview? And if you did, reply to it. If not, your arguments become less relevant.

I got my homes wrong. This one had a death from, not with, Covid. Nice old bloke, one of the healthier ones.

From NHS

Advice for adults and children over 4 years old

During the autumn and winter, you need to get vitamin D from your diet because the sun is not strong enough for the body to make vitamin D.

But since it's difficult for people to get enough vitamin D from food alone, everyone (including pregnant and breastfeeding women) should consider taking a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms of vitamin D during the autumn and winter.

Between late March/early April to the end of September, most people can get all the vitamin D they need through sunlight on their skin and from a balanced diet.

You may choose not to take a vitamin D supplement during these months.
People at risk of vitamin D deficiency

Some people will not get enough vitamin D from sunlight because they have very little or no sunshine exposure.

The Department of Health and Social Care recommends that you take a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms of vitamin D throughout the year if you:

are not often outdoors – for example, if you're frail or housebound
are in an institution like a care home
usually wear clothes that cover up most of your skin when outdoors

If you have dark skin – for example you have an African, African-Caribbean or south Asian background – you may also not get enough vitamin D from sunlight.

You should consider taking a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms of vitamin D throughout the year.

This advice has been around for years. For the month or so that the sun is too week due to the angle of the Earth, you needn't worry too much. It takes a fair bit longer than that to get Rickets.

The info that is specific to C19 is new, as is the much higher recommended dose. Apparently even being outdoors in the UK at this time of year won't give you enough, and maybe none at all, due to the sun's angle.

So whilst the general advice might be well known, this is being updated because of the pandemic and doesn't yet appear to be.
