Or are you a ginger in which case a nano-second in the sun is sufficient. Edited by Mapletree (02 Nov 2020 12.48pm) I make sure I get a very varied diet. I also get outside a lot or enough. That might be difficult for old people sure, but I haven’t noticed our days being about 4 hours long so it’s not as if it isn’t possible. Sloth around in your house or up all night snd asleep all day then maybe yes.

We just tested staff in one of our Care Homes for antibodies. A home in which we have had zero Resident infection. Blow me, 50% had antibodies! Many had not been aware of any illness. I am genuinely deeply surprised.

Well this Mike Yeadon article explains how the SAGE calculations don’t stack up. Any dismissing of this welcome. But I’m expecting an extension of lockdown to show it was government policy that did it, just like others including the recent tier 3 lockdown in Manchester 5 days after positive test results had been falling. Of course Andy Burnham knew this. And looking at this after reading of the flaws in calculations I struggle to see how we’re in real trouble. [Link] Edited by Rudi Hedman (02 Nov 2020 1.18pm)

I am genuinely deeply surprised. That’s brilliant news. It could also mean the virus is weakening if they never knew. I had the antibody test in a trial. It showed no antibodies but that doesn’t really mean I don’t have immunity. I and several others had extreme coughs and all that early December. I remember because I agreed an operation within 10 days for mid December and I was concerned I may not recover in time. I did. What alarmed me more was Brighton hospital expecting me to go to a follow up consultation in late March I think. They claimed there wasn’t a problem in Brighton and their small cramped Victorian building and waiting room resembling an evacuation scene was safe. I just phoned in sick on the day as I was advised off the record by the receptionist. ‘We don’t arrange phone appointments.’ Well they just have, to ask a few simple questions. Jesus the wastage in the NHS. At least they might learn how to save time they waste at least.

Scenarios, projections or facts. . It appears the Government doesn’t like facts, just bases everything on wild scenarios and projections from a limited amount of so called experts.

Yes, but I’m still being careful where I mostly can and respecting I don’t know other’s situations so give people the choice. There’s no need to be hugging everyone snd getting up close when communicating anyway. Drop that and you won’t be in the chain or more importantly pass it onto anyone possibly at the end of the chain.

You must have been living in a yurt down there. Everyone knows all of the above. Of course you need Vitamin D all year round. Vitamin D undergoes two hydroxylations in the body for activation. Calcitriol (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3), the active form of vitamin D, has a half-life of about 15 hours, whilst calcidiol (25-hydroxyvitamin D3) has a half-life of about 15 days. And of course it's more important during the winter when there is less direct sunlight. It is well established that you benefit fromm taking Cod Liver Oil in the winter, which has Vitamins A and D, and Omega 3 oil in the summer as you don't need to take in so much of those vitamins. Since 1928 it has been known that Vitamin C protects the immune system, reduces the severity of allergic reactions and helps to fight off infections. In particular Vitamin C helps to reduce the impact of cytokine storm. But to be effective when you have COVID-19 it has to be a high dosage intravenously. And you have to protect the kidneys whilst administering it. I made a silly typo and put in "vit C" when everything I said was actually about vit D. My excuse being I was very tired at the time, having been up most of the night. And having a malfunctioning keyboard! This was my starting point:- [Link]

The WHO position on lockdowns is apparently not valid.

The first thing they do with COVID patients is put them on additional Vitamin D. Interesting at the time all patients had dark skin. Our Care Home GPs prescribe it for all residents.
