Of course. How else could we do it?

Regulatory bodies work on our behalf. That's their function, at the behest of government who are elected by us to serve our interests.

Just trying to establish the extent of "our" culpability if things go wrong.

That's a little odd!

None of us can tackle everything in our lives alone unless we live as hermits. We need to share and delegate. This is only an example of that. Nothing unusual.

It was the "down to us" comment which confused me.

Dr Campbell on the excess death rate, which for this week jumped to over 22 percent above the average.

Whenever I now watch anything on YouTube "Dr Campbell" videos appear as recommendations on the right. Whoever is doing his marketing and promotion is doing a great, and probably very expensive, job to get him such exposure. It must be worth it though.

I haven't watched this one which appears to be covering a subject already dealt with. Perhaps the fluctuation has more to do with the reporting of statistics over bank holiday weekends than anything more sinister?

You should watch it.

I must admit. I am not a fan of the youtube videos or channels. One thing I can agree on with wisbech eagle is that they do all seem to have alterier motives.

I do my own citical thinking / research without anyone telling me what to think and come to my own informed decision or opinions.

Reminds me of that famous quote:
'If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you're mis-informed'.

I certainly don't think you should just believe things people or an organisation tell you. It should be an investigative process.

I think it comes down to motive and for that you have to make a judgement upon the individual you are trusting....just as in our personal lives. How committed to truth are they, if they make a mistake or get something wrong how do they deal with that.

Campbell videos are a good source of official statistics on this topic. I certainly think everyone should think about what makes sense and doesn't.

Here is a link that has relevance to several threads, but is probably best placed here:-

Maybe we need to find a way for Ofcom to regulate YouTube too. It might encourage more care when making claims.

You mean censorship on opinions you do not like or goes against the narrative?

Did you read Ofcom's ruling?

They are not saying such views cannot be expressed! Only that they need to be balanced and not left unchallenged as statements of fact.

So no censorship at all.

Why should GBNews be subject to this and not organsiations proven to have pushed governmentally approved misinformation such as the BBC?

Ofcom is just another socially liberal captured organization of the state. They use all the same buzzwords that we hear from 'progressives' on Hol.
