That was considered, but I sense it has now been rolled back. Us seeing how it's reported by the Russians won't convince too many but informs a lot. If we ban RT, they would ban the BBC and that's a big loss. Like it or not the BBC is generally trusted and keeping available in Russia really important.

I also looked at RT over the weekend and was quite shocked. I dont just look at BBC,. I trust jouralsits like Matt Frei (Channel 4 / LBC) and Stuart Ramsay (Sky) who have spent their carrerrs indpendant reporting from war zones.
FT was very strange. They describe the invasion as the "invasion", as if its a misdescription. They also seemed to be spending a lot of time going over old things like the Iraq war as showing how in a historical conetxt their actions are quite justified, rather than what Russia is doing now.
They also had some US journalist on a lot complainig that what the world is doing is just "virtue signalling".
It is like they see things in a parrallel universe.

I’m concerned that the Ukraine crisis is distracting us from important issues such as personal pronoun preferences, unisex-toilets, purging public life of people who say there are such things as males and females, pulling down statues of historical figures, banning Shakespeare for his toxic masculinity and racism and sexism, and making all roads cycle only, and the key issue of saving the planet by insulating our lofts.

Just offering a different slant on things. I posted a topic in general chat a couple months back about global currency reset/replacement and the choice software being ripple xrp.

Well if you study Brics nations, Brazil, S Africa, China, India and Russia. Russia currently being disconnected from swift

Xrp has been created as a swift competitor

Anyway. Check the following and connect dots. All major events come down to money

So it looks like Brics nations may all soon look to move off swift entirely - msm is promoting the idea of them choosing Bitcoin. But Bitcoin cannot scale globally. 30 min to one day transactions and high fees. No real use case for the modern world.

So check which countries already have links to XRP

Yes, I’m going to suggest to my MP a 20mph limit on motorways and open two lanes up for cyclists and another for caravans, with cars and lorries only in the outside lane. Should get the country moving nicely.

I note that Putin is blaming Liz Truss - as an example - for saying things that they don't like to hear hence the nuclear threat.
Whilst I believe that Ministers of State have the right to answer questions and to within reason say what they want I also believe that most of them are not very statesmanlike and to that end should keep their traps firmly shut without an awful lot of forethought.
One hymn sheet and as few people as possible joining in with the singing would help matters immensely.
When Putin is sat there with his finger hovering over a red button just leave it to those that matter.
I am not making any excuse for Putin at all - he is an arse of the highest order and someone who has almost united a dis-united West in wanting him gone forever- just wanting our Leaders to say the right thing at the right time at the moment.

There is a great deal of bs in this thread. Some of it really stinks.

The above, alongside other contributions from this poster, are though a whole cess pit on their own.

There is no excuse for what Putin is doing. Those who attempt to find an apology for him are not fit and proper British citizens.

well that shows your level of ignorance. I am not, and have never been, a British citizen.

All that needs to be re-iterated about your contributions is how you gleefully stated that you're cheering on Russia from the sidelines and that we should let Putin take Ukraine. Where you're from is secondary, since you're denigrating and demeaning people who genuinely care about and defend their country with their lives. Multiple videos coming out of ordinary Ukrainian citizens being gunned down in front of their families. And even their family pets. How brave. Not much to cheer about I'm afraid.

As I said yesterday Russia has changed tactics, after failing to take a single major town/city are now quite happy to rack up civilian casualties, as far as I know they have not used the TOS-1 yet but are happy to drop cluster bombs and rockets on civilian areas.

Russian's were driving an ICBM about in plain sight somewhere in their territory earlier today - clearly for the cameras.

I actually think Putin is mad enough to push the button.

And finally something political for all of you to sink your teeth into - of all the thousands of Ukrainian families that have crossed the border into Slovakia only 44 families so far have sought asylum in SK, the rest are heading further West.

Basically we've put our name forward to house some families but were not needed yet.

The mountains are calling & I must go.
