Nope hrolf, unless you are of an ethnic make up you cannot possibly be offended by abuse unless its racist abuse. Load of bollox. People are people and we all have feelings. Yeah, this is an issue I have with the racial abuse thing. When I hear people losing it over racial abuse, I just wonder if they have any backbone. I'm sure many people have experienced abuse of all sorts and you just have to get on with it. I don't see too many fat or bald people forming militant groups or taking a knee about it and I don't believe that there is a special emotion exclusively reserved for racial abuse. Re-read what I said. And yes, I have had the barber example happen to me. Took zero offence to it either. As far as I see It, It only becomes racist once someone is offended by it, regardless of The intent in which it was said. Sure, if it was intended to be racist, then it's more likely for it to be offensive to someone. but that does not mean that just because no racist intent was used that someone will not take offence, and deem it racist. If someone else went to your barber shop and got offended by being asked to try another barbers, would it be racist then?

This guy wants to justify his racism based on semantics. He doesn't seem to realise that treating people differently due to their race is literally racism. How he wishes to describe it or feels about it is immaterial and as stated pure semantics. That some races might benefit from racism over others is not in dispute. As that's the whole point of it. It would be quite nature for them to then wish to redefine or re-describe. I just prefer honesty.

A black friend of mine asked to borrow my hair clippers recently. (barbers have all been shut) I always cut my own hair, just shave it off (skinhead as I'm bald). I told him my clippers aren't that strong as it's obvious his hair is miles tougher than mine. I still leant him them. They came back broken.

My mother took a reel of cotton to the shop to try and match the colour, the shop assistant was deeply offended(she said) as the colour on the spool was n****r brown! The nspool is over 40 years old!

I came into this thread to read about what other people thought about the Millwall incident, I gave my view and perspective, as a black man on this and other issues but for some reason, you are deflecting your own closeted (or not so closeted) racism towards me. Please, do point me in the direction of my own racism? Do you not understand the power dynamics and dehumanising involved in racism? Treating people differently (and in my example, positively), is not racism.

Anyone who disagrees with your way of thinking, you call a racist. So that must make you a racist too right?
