I see that the Beeb's Head of Diversity has decided the Idris Elba is not Black enough It seems that his character in Luther doesn,t have any black friends or eat West Indian food. How much are they paying this dopey cow for this nonsense !!!! Crazy isn't it? I watched all the Luther series and thoroughly enjoyed them. Idris Elba's black cop role was well cast. Never occurred to me he wasn't a black guy. Don't remember seeing him in any restaurants or with friends so why that showed he wasn't authentic, goodness knows. His nemesis Alice, played by the magnificent Ruth Wilson, was scary though. But yes, the BBC needs to have a long look at itself, to actually take seriously this nonsense spouted by their diversity chief is beyond the pale (if you'll excuse the expression).

So you're an Uncle Tom if your not eating rice and peas or hanging out with people with spliffs or afros? Utter nonsense. I'm sure black people would be unimpressed by the stereotyping.

And look at Bergerac. They should now be remade with CGI bowler hats and canes with shiny silver bezels, just to be safe.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I watch that, The Saint and Tales of the Unexpected currently. I'm in full on nostalgia mode. Reggie Perrin had me on absolute stitches the other day. Life was simpler then, more black and white - or is that today? I'm losing track.

Just like the permanently offended snowflakes, we should start serious complaints about the white stereotypes. Confusion will reign at the beeb.

I too am a devotee of the Talking Pictures channel - Good isn't it? At least they tell us before the programme is due to start if there may be language of olden days which some viewers may find offensive. Simple times indeed, but some 'authentic' programming nonetheless. Watched an episode of Gideon's Way last night. He drank a cup of tea. Disgusting I tell you.

Doubt the follow-up will be shown again much since Lewis’ sidekick was played by Laurence Fox.

Or should that be kneel. Oh, I don't know - think I'll have to lie down.

Started by a father and daughter in their spare room. They tried to get Sky interested and eventually went their own way. It averages around 5m viewers which is more than channels aimed at the yoof like MTV. And on that note the DG at the BBC admitted they don't target the older population with programming. So they target the alphabet soup crowd and the yoof (who don't watch) and ignore the people who are their most loyal viewers, go figure. TP has shown that there are niche markets out there which can be exploited and that not everything has to be Woke and young.
