Eddie Hearn concerned about YouTube fights. Is this a genuine concern for the sport or is Eddie worried that his nice little cartel might get broken up.

You tuber fighters already come with ready made viewing platforms so I guess it’s less need for promoters. If not careful, boxing could become a bit of a gimmick.

It may appear 'fun' on the surface but beyond a point it eats away at the integrity of the sport when we find ourselves at a place where there are more big money 'influencer' and OAP boxing legend bouts than highly anticipated match ups based on current boxing ability. It's all becoming a bit WWE. That said, Hearn follows the money too, and was the promoter of Jake Paul's first fight so is a fine one to start complaining now!

I guess a bit of showmanship is good for the sport, but there’s a fine line and when ‘celebrities’ with no boxing background are mooted to fight the best pound for pound fighter in the world then we are crossing the line into making a mockery of the sport. It’s comparable to a show business 11 playing Man City.

I think this is something the market should decide. Boxing financially survives on entertainment value and this is good for it and only increases its reach.

Agreed I think it a bit rich when promoters complain about joke celebrity matches they should look at some of the rubbish they serve up to the public. What stops people watching boxing is the lack of decent fights because promoters and TV companies shield their asset.

If only it could go back to one world champion per weight.
