This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 I think we are clearing the decks for a Charlie Austin bid. would'nt be surprised if Gayle goes to QPR and we get Austin in part exchange. Said it all along i had a feeling we'll get Austin. Also the deal to sell Murray has come late in the day which Tells me something has happened behind the scenes for us to allow Glenn to talk to Bournemouth. BTW thank you for the goals Glenn and good luck at Bournemouth should you sign. But not against us.

Who knows if we're actually in for Austin, but i'm sure there'll be a few ins and outs. The fact is we need to trim the squad and recoup some cash with at least 4-5 going (Bannan being one of them) and 1 coming in. We have to be prepared to see Muzza and Gayle go as if we get in excess of £10m for them it'd be too good to turn down. But with Campbell and Chamakh injured, Wickham and Bamford not even scoring yet this season we could be left in a bad position. I can only think that there maybe another loan signing until Xmas on the horizon in case we end up without Austin or other first choice striker.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 Just heard off a Boro fan that they've offered £1.5 million to loan Gayle. If true, and Murray goes, then I guess we're in for a striker from somewhere

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 According to Sky Murray on his way to Bournemouth for a medical, 5m deal agreed. Palace now favorites to sign Austin.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 I just realised how well our club is run, even compared to some top clubs like Manchester United. I was quite literally in the middle of typing this - "I'd be surprised if we got rid of both Murray and Gayle to get Austin, wouldn't that leave us light in the striker department?" Whilst true we'd be selling arguably our two best strikers currently at the club, we'd be getting an upgrade in Austin BUT also, have Wickham and Bamford in reserve, with former Man Utd striker Frazer Campbell on hand in case we have 3 striker injuries. Finally, if all 4 of Austin, Wickham, Bamford and Campbell all get injured at the same time, both Chamakh and Bolasie can play as the striker. Absurd. Absolutely absurd how great a squad we have.

Quite right but this is Palace.........Muzza's bound to fail the medical
