Stand by for the ultimate comeback. Not Trump but Obama…(who’s probably been running the country in the background). Biden will step down and somehow the Democrats will have Harris taking over with Obama standing by her side everywhere she goes. It’s the only way that the Democrats can beat Trump, as there is no time for a formal rerun of the democratic candidate election process. Obama will be the face of the Democrats but Harris holding the presidency in name only.

Not out of the question but cannot see Harris ever winning the general election so it's a stop gap if they remove Biden which I can't see happening unless there is a " medical emergency "

It looks to me , like there is no way back for Biden. More on the medical side than popularity. Because Americans voted Reagan in,...twice, you can never discount the American public.
i think the party must be extremely worried about Biden as a liability. Could Biden step down ? Or can a situation be contrived where he has to be replaced by someone ?
November is a long way off, so there might be time for a new President to establish themselves in the Popularity stakes, though Trump momentum seems unstoppable. Even after a criminal conviction,

It’s difficult to know what will happen next, but my hope is that common sense will prevail and a way found around the procedural barriers at the convention so a replacement candidate can be found. Although Biden came out fighting yesterday! It all depends, I suspect, on the next set of opinion polls, but I hope personal pride does not stand in the way of the national and international interests.

Because the only thing that really matters is to avoid another 4 years of Trump. I am not sure how the West could survive that intact, let alone how the USA would end up. Imagine having someone re-elected who has tried to avoid the result of a democratic decision, is a convicted felon with the morals of an alley cat and the intellect of a playground bully (calling the Governor of California, Gavin Newscum and thinking it clever).

Obama could not serve as VP to Harris as he could not replace her as President, but he could serve as Secretary of State and assume a very high profile role, making it plain both during the campaign and afterwards that this was a deliberate tactic to overcome the restrictions.

Something like this needs to happen, so it probably will.
