Bournemouth, Leeds and Palace all have got 5 points during the last six games. The worst in the league (Everton & Southampton (6 p), Leicester (7), West Ham & Forest ( and Wolves (10). If that ain't relegation form for the Eagles, I don't know what it is.
Soon Zaha is back, we play "easier" teams etc etc.
Remember previous encounters with Everton, Fulham and Nott Forest?

Except you need to look at who was played during that period. Our last 8 games were all teams above us in the league, or in the top half.

I'm a bit of a stato and base survival on a 40 points target as 0.5 points per top half team and 1.75 per bottom half team. Therefore below is my expected points tally for the last 8 games.

If we translate that to the other teams you mention.
Palace--------8/0-------------5 points---4 (expected)---(+1)
Bournemouth---5/3-------------5 points---7.75-----------(-2.75)
Leeds---------3/5-------------6 points---10.25----------(-4.25)
Leicester-----6/2-------------7 points---6.5------------(+0.5)
Wolves--------4/4-------------8 points---9--------------(-1)
Everton-------4/4-------------8 points---9--------------(-1)
saints--------2/6-------------9 points---11.5-----------(-2.5)
West Ham------4/4-------------10 points--9--------------(+1)
Forest--------3/5-------------12 points--10.25----------(+1.75)

IMO this gives a better impression of current form. This puts us joint 2nd.

I will do this again after the next 8.

Surely, a more relevant point during all the rather pointless analysis of how many points will be needed to stay up, is to wonder how many of the teams below us would have earned fairly comfortable home draws against Newcastle, Moan Utd and the Seaweed ? As well as going to Brentford, where we really should have won and then last night comfortably holding a poor Liverpool side - I am sure that I was far from the only one sitting there, highly cheesed off that, with proper transfer business, we might have had a better cutting edge to have rightly won it !

37 points will be plenty.

So we need 10 points from 14 games.

Im very optimistic we will get 40 points plus.

Check back at the end of the season.

Barring an unforeseen catastrophe, we are looking very safe, to stay up.

Shame we never pulled off Nketia.

I said this to my arsenal supporting mate yesterday , Nketia would have been the cream on the cake in this squad , and now we will never get him, that is one thing that is very frustrating

So you’re saying we are going to lose 6 of our next 8 games when we’ve only lost 9 all season? And not been beaten in 5 of our last 6 against good sides ?

I respect people opinions I do but that’s just ludicrous

Your nonsense is getting rather tiresome. Despite the prophets of doom, we're still in 12th place, and holding our own.

From my perspective, I am not stunned into slack-jawed somnolence by Lanzo's consistent messaging about our prospects under Patrick Vieira.
