To be fair A.S, the Irish sausages beat the british sausages hands down, same as the black and white puddings, I wish we would ban the british sausages in England and import the Irish stuff, always bring shed loads of sausages, black and white pudding back any time I go over, luckily they do it all at the airport.

The Clonakilty ones are the best. I bought Irish sausages in Sainsbury's some years ago - they were the wrong size to start with. There used to be 100s of types of British sausage - often regional. Probably best to ask a butcher rather than bother with the supermarket.

Yeah, but none touch the Irish ones, same as the pudding, think its the spices added, and the black pudding has no or very little fat, the english stuff has lumps of it. Over the years, i bought those richmond "Irish recipe" sausages twice, they were terrible, only bought them twice because I thought there must of been a mistake in the first lot. The cumberland type are ok to be fair, but not anything like the Irish taste, but steer clear of the Richmond next time you are over.

My sister had my cousins from the West near you over, farmers, big appetites, she went to town on the breakfast, sausage, bacon, eggs, tomato, beans, black pudding, no stone unturned. She took the plates back and was shocked to see the sausages were the only thing left on the plate.

To give you some idea of how tasteless english sausages are the customs declaration forms have 'merde' written on them.
