In true Souness style "I go back to what I have said" - Roy Hodgson is tried and trusted, he has ensured that we have remained in the PL for 3 seasons on a limited spend and he has met his objectives.

He has a great deal of credit in the 'Bank' and will be at the helm for the foreseeable future.
He might have already decided that this is going to be his last season as a manager, come hell or high water, and at the end of the season if we are still in the PL with him at the helm and he decided to 'Bring down the curtain' on his managerial career he will depart with his head held high and will always receive a warm and hearty welcome at Selhurst Park and deservedly so.

Sorry I read that wrong Willo, I thought you said he was tired and crusted.

If Roy leaves at the end of this season, who is likely to be recruited to sit on the Palace throne?
Usual suspects in the frame include Dyche,Howe,Frank to name a few.
May well depend on whether we are still in this league and can attract quality.
One assumes SP has a plan in place.

Seems obvious to me.

If Zaha leaves then Mr Hodgson must follow.

He has no clue how to use what is a fairly talented (if aging) squad to advantage.

I'd say even if Wilf stays new blood is desirable.

We would need an Allardyce-type from the old school
or a Tomas Frank from the new to get the very best of what we have. Someone not afraid (unlike Hodgson) to give youth a chance.

I do wonder if he approved the signing of Eze or if Freedman was anticipating a new manager or maybe a first signing for himself ?

Why would an '' Allardyce-type '' type get the best of what we have ? And you can't get much more '' Old School '' than Hodgson !

As for giving youth a chance, here's an extract from an Everton fanzine '' Sam Allardyce has never had a reputation for giving youth a chance to play at the various stops of his bottom-feeding managerial career.''

Tomas Frank is doing some good work in the Championship backed by a scouting model that has much to be admired. What he doesn't have is a track record of dealing with a highly experienced Premier League players or opponents.
