Good article from Janet Street Porter somebody I wouldn't normally listen to.

BBC is more interested in fixing it's backroom staff than in fixing it's output. So remember next time you are bored stiff with yet another woke programme just remember it's okay because the backroom staff tick all the boxes.

Yes, a good article which for me highlights the ridiculous situation of trying to shoehorn workers in all walks of life into roles to suit an agenda rather than selection on merit. All it does is generate mediocrity and the ultimate outcome will only ever be more of the nation switching off the BBC in this case.

Those from less fortunate backgrounds still rise to the top if they are good enough, but thinking that a senior position can be filled by using a box ticking exercise is fanciful at best.

I too am no fan of hers but she knocks the nail firmly on the head.
An organisation worried more about its own workings than what it produces.
Given that we - the viewers/readers - are more interested in what it produces then they will slowly go even further up their own backsides.
Even more worrying is that they are spending/wasting our money doing it!
GRRRRR!

Up early this morning and note that the lead story on the TV news is the George Floyd trial.
It is naturally something to be reported but is it the most important news story today??
They just can't stop themselves.

So when the bbc chooses ethnicity over quality, who will be to blame when viewings go down.

I doubt they choose the ads. It's pretty striking now when there is an all white family on an ad now. Looks wrong, showing how quickly you can be influenced. Also looking at TV where people touch, hug or shake hands looks strange. Whatever the right or wrong of it, lockdown has been too long.

I agree totally with you. I'm OK with showing some measure of diversity in ads, but it's out of hand now. I'm sorry, but in our house we often find ourselves looking at each other saying 'are we in Africa or what?'

I see that the Beeb's Head of Diversity has decided the Idris Elba is not Black enough

It seems that his character in Luther doesn,t have any black friends or eat West Indian food.

How much are they paying this dopey cow for this nonsense !!!!

The Licence fee will now be with us until 2038 minimum.

Makes this thread seem a bit redundant.

It has to be there anyway to support the establishment and ease in the next tory government.
