If a WH secretary says they are deep fakes you can be fairly confident they are. Such things are not said lightly.

Everyone knows that a portion at least of the American people are thick. Which portion is though disputed.

Talking of thick.....

It is clear from watching the Trump-Biden 'debate' that Biden is mentally and physically unfit for office. it is truly astonishing that he is President and running again - or should we say stumbling again.

For other reasons, Trump is unfit for office. What a state of affairs when these two are the probably candidates.

No doubt the usual suspects on here will continue to support both.

Anyone who actually thinks Biden is fit for office, both future and current, is deluded to a degree that defies description.

Biden himself does not count of course as he is unfit to have an opinion

The left wing MSM in US are jumping off the sinking Biden ship.

NBC, MSNBC, CNN all saying the election bid is over and questioning if he can finish term.

Those on here who have been saying Biden was too old, too sick, suffering dementia have been proved correct.

Those who said he was ok, shame on you.

Those who said he wouldn’t be the Democratic candidate look like they are about to be proved correct.

Who it actually will be is the interesting question but ultimately less important than making sure they defeat Trump.

I predict they will be younger, dynamic, untouched by past scandals, and quite possibly female.

I don’t image that they would lose one vote currently going to Biden, so with the race already in the balance the question would be how many independents would they capture and how many reluctant Trump voters would switch. It only needs a few to make the difference needed.

The convention is going to be interesting. As I always predicted.

A view from a "left leaning" American outlet. Seems it's not going to be easy to replace Biden at this stage.
It does raise the question as to what the Democrats would do if he was unable to stand.

As I said the convention is going to be interesting.

I am uncertain whether Biden ever truly intended to stand but whether the plan has been to draw the Trump fire at him knowing that Harris would become the actual candidate. We’ll know soon enough.

If the plan was for Biden not to run then he and the Democrats are even more duplicitous than I thought. if Biden is replaced at this late stage by Harris or Michelle Obama et al the electorate will have been deprived of an opportunity to assess them.

Nomination campaigns are a brutal affair and whilst only the members of the party can vote they are covered widely, the rest of America is watching and getting a feeling for the candidates.

Any replacement at this late stage firstly denies the party members their choice and secondly means that the candidate avoids the scrutiny of the media and public. *

I have had this feeling for a while now that a white horse candidate will emerge for the democrats.

As for the debate last night which I did not watch even the BBC is saying he was a disaster so he must have been bad. Meanwhile a number of notable Hollywood Celebs are already calling for Biden to be replaced.

*Aaron Sorkin's film with Michael Douglas as the President has an interesting premise. Douglas's wife dies just before he runs so he has public sympathy and his unnamed opponent choose not to attack his character so he ha an easy ride into the White House.

I wonder if Sorkin is advising the Democrats.

Still looks like a complicated process.

Not sure shame is the right word but you get no argument from me on the substantive point.

The Democrats had the opportunity to replace Biden some time ago, but that ship has long sailed. Any attempt now will wreak of desperation and simply replace a nag for the knackers with a lame duck.

Attending the debate and clinging on to power are both the fault of that man. His base politics may be closer aligned to mine, but his ego and narcissism have been his undoing.

What a choice the poor US electorate have.

I can only concur with the conservative commentary on the debates.

The general level was low from both candidates, but Biden was almost comical at times.

It just goes to show you that the real power isn't invested into the actual person of the presidency but in the unelected officials their teams appoint.

Trump is going to win and he deserves the retribution he clearly wants.

I told certain posters that going after Trump was madness for the Democrats but it's what they supported and their TDS was obviously replicated in Democratic circles to such an extent that self harming became an obsession.

The US public have seen through it.

I'd of quietly suggested than as opposed to playing 'Woke' cards and attacking Trump, Democrats would have been far better putting forward a competent candidate. Would probably go against every play in the political guidebook however.
