Nobody said you 'condoned' it, I stated that beyond a limp 'I don't condone it' you displayed not a single sign that you cared about what happened to him. You criticised the actions and the character of the NHS worker who got a his eye socket shattered multiple times before you said anything negative whatsoever about his attackers. That it an irrefutable and provable statement of fact and funnily enough will remain so. Edited by BlueJay (01 Nov 2020 12.17am)

Not sure of the authenticity of the Infections graph but if it is true then seeing it placed over phase 1 of Covid it looks like what the hell are they doing or, do not do this longer than a month whatever you think at that stage. I will be concerned because they’re more than capable of extending it even if the reduction in infections or positive tests falls quite a bit. ‘Not sure of the authenticity...’ Look - the amount of negative sentiment and press the government is getting for even the slightest misstep is off the charts. Do you really think they’d be taking these measures just for fun? There has also been plenty of recent analysis of the statistical delay, and instead of the commonly touted 2 weeks it is now being suggested that it could be as much as one month. No one likes it, but is it better to trust the science (let’s not forget people were pissing their pants with laughter at the 300 deaths a day by October just last month, where are they now?) or gamble that actually some of the indicators are wrong and really we should just ride this s*** out, come what may. Feck it, I’m the people’s champ. Go forth morons, and multiply! There’s no way the science or the government are even close to 100% accurate, or ‘right’. But that’s not the point. It’s a binary choice, about which way the balance is headed. It’s not like they’ve rushed into it this time, it’s been a steady build, with localised restrictions tried as a precursor. Boris and his cabinet are getting roasted alive by his backbenchers - interpret sections of the data how you like, but they have the qualifications and sight of the whole picture, and more importantly, the responsibility - so I can’t think that they’ve taken this decision based on a trend of falling infections and increasing capacity.

This virus is here to stay. It generally kills people past their life expectancy, or with existing underlying isses. There are a few cases of "long covid", much like chronic fatigue syndrome (yuppie flu). This whole issue is now, sadly, beyond debate. Much like religion, there are people who believe what they are told (I won't name you all, but you know who you are), and there are people who question what they are told. No opinions will be swayed one way or the other. But the questions go unanswered. And the same message is repeated. "Have faith, the Messiah (vaccine) will present himself" The type of echo chamber twitter guff that people have lurched towards is often as if not more ridiculous than anything in mainstream media. There is a complete lack of quality control, and people leaning on social media for fact most often have no filter to pick fact from fiction. Hence why we get stunned posts about how testing centres are all 'empty' and people buying half arsed ideas that the pandemic is 'secretly over' but the government don't want to tell us. Funnily enough I think the past few weeks have put that one to bed.

There have been pandemics before. Read up. I was referring to your point about change / ‘life won’t be the same’ etc etc Again, and? That literally is the basis of time, life and existence. Change is constant. Big s*** happens. People lose, people win. So what.

I'm not even a proponent of the lockdown but it's out of our control and so you make the best of the situation you're in. Life can change in profound ways for individuals or society for various reasons, some are in our control some out. Propagating an idea that life is changed forever is a panicked reaction rather than a reality. Who thinks life is static. You get on with it.

Your opinion, backed up by a few others, has no actual evidence, except what the government tell you via the media. On any other occasion, you would not believe it, simply because it came from the government. Hypocracy is alive and kicking. You cherrypick what you want to think without a question, because that is what you want to think. You are an easily manipulated person. You listen only when told to. Good grief....
