At a rough guess I would say the concept of nationalism, and the ideal of the national good. Fascism also really has a tendency to be anti-religious - hence the reason why the Falangists in Spain were distinct from, but allied to the Spainish Fascist political parties. Obviously, Islamists aren't anti-religious. Also finally whilst Fascist traditionally idealise the past, they tend to see themselves as revivalist, where as some Islamist groups almost literally see themselves as recreating a return to the past - rather than incorporating it. Italian Fascism and National Socialism adopted classical elements of national culture including Greek, Roman and paganism. Ultra-Conservatives would reject those influences (well unless they were ultra-conservative pagans I guess). Would these be the same fascists in Italy who concluded the Lateran Treaty with the Holy See, made Catholicism the only recognised religion and restored Vatican sovereignty via the creation of Vatican City State, and would it also be the same fascists in Spain who recognised only Catholicism as the state religion?

Indeed. And Cambridgeshire fruit farms will be in a right pickle. No seasonal migrant workers and local unemployment stats practically zero so who do they hire? Still, at least they won't be bothered by foreigners anymore.

Suddenly Gusett and Kermit are worried about businesses instead of slagging them off. Perhaps the farmers will have to start paying decent wages to get workers.
We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |

Not sure I can see the supermarkets wanting to pay them much more for their produce though, or the shoppers wanting to pay what the proper going rate should actually be. It's going to take a hell of a lot to wean our "strong & stable" economy off of its addiction to low wages.
Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune) |

It won't be getting picked at the same tonnage rate so they will have to import which means higher prices on the shelves of course. God Bless Brexit

The decision has been made....not enough English people in England whose first loyalty is to England. A certain percentage is fine but this was England and Wales's chance to say....'this wasn't done in our name.' And enough of us said it. Edited by Stirlingsays (22 Jun 2017 6.50pm)

When have I slagged off business other than tax avoided / evaders? Standard bulls*** dressed up as argument response. I posted the link because I found it funny. Fancy moaning about no migrant workers after voting leave. Listened to James OBrien yesterday. Lots of skilled Europeans ringing in who have left or are leaving the UK. It won't just be fruit pickers we will be short of.
