Cameron called a referendum. He said that voters may as well be choosing the time of 1 o'clock or 2 o'clock for all the knowledge they had. I feel sorry for the scots who would quite likely want independence but the thought of another referendum is unbearable. Just don't have them.

Yes, he did call for a referendum . And he was in the Remain camp, from which many such patronising and condescending comments emanated. It's like calling the electorate stupid. Or are they only stupid when they bring in a result that isn't to your liking? Given the last two popular votes we've had, you must f*cking hate the voting public

I can't remember the phrase that Mrs Thatcher used to describe referendums but it was pretty damning. Personal abuse usual hot air.

Er, they've already had one and they voted to stay in the Union. Why have another referendum when the issue's already been decided? Or should they just keep having one until the 'out' faction (which got a pretty large thumbs down at the GE) get the answer they want? You have a weird perception of democracy.

You don't really get any more democratic than a referendum. If we're going to be really democratic, we need to move away from allowing vaguely representative self interested proxies represent us because we find politics boring - And instead maybe takes some responsibility on ourselves.

Steeleye is ready to feel sorry for anybody, even those not wanting the attention. He'd make a great celebrity. Crying over everyone and everything before being picked up in his Bentley for his meeting with the tax avoiding or evading accountant.

Why have another referendum when the issue's already been decided? I rather think it is. There won't be another one for a very long time, if it all. Scotland voted to stay in the UK - suck it up Or are you going to attempt to de-legitimise every single democratically decided outcome?
