Me too Cryrst. I live in Scotland and I've never met anyone here who would ever describe themselves as British. I'm English. I Will always be. 'British' is just for the passports of people who arrived here five minutes ago.

There is no nation called Britain, it's a union. It consists of countries (England, Scotland, Wales & small islands). It's called a British passport but it's actually for the United Kingdom, which includes (for this period) Northern Ireland. It makes sense for a passport to work within a union of countries that don't have borders between them. However, people are born in specific places, normally within a country. To argue differently is....well just a bit silly. Perhaps this says about the attitude of an individual towards a country that they feel 'other' from it. Some might say they shouldn't reside in such a country, especially in a location that is very conservative and white....not the diverse environment they support for others. The discussion was about passports. Not how people feel. It was suggested only new arrivals have British on their passports and that’s simply untrue. Whether you like it or not we are all British. That’s how the world sees us, even if some here can’t accept that. Where I happen to live makes no difference as does the preposterous idea that they are “white” does either. Many of the people here are proud Cornishmen and women, who regard anyone from east of the Tamar as foreign, but they still carry a British passport when they fly out of Newquay.

Is your brain smoking yet Wisbech? Complete nonsense. Very few can be called British. You must either be born here or acquire citizenship after a minimum of 5 years. That first requires you obtaining a visa to be here and few can. There’s nothing in anyone’s genes that makes them English or anything else. It’s entirely cultural.

Someone's nationality isn't about feelings it's factual. You just don't deserve to be in England, certainly not Cornwall. You are factually wrong to state that being English is entirely cultural. Just as you are wrong about most.

Does “contents” though mean the physical content alone or also the intellectual property that implicit in the texts, images and videos? Whether the shop’s action was more disgraceful than the recorded actions is beside the point. One was deliberate exploitation. The other was private.

Who are you supporting in the Euros? Entirely different issue. We all have favourite teams. Usually mine is the one with the most Palace players in it, and will be this time.

Yes, the entire contents became the property of the shopkeeper. As previously posted the situation could have been avoided if he'd paid his bill but he chose not to. Like he did with his taxes.
