If fit healthy and throughly up for it cerainly no more of a risk than any other available alternative
So for me good news, now with games starting next week and a season starting in just over a months time , they can get down to it. Only the Wilf question undecided, Olise injury should pan out, but otherwise a reasonable squad in place, and plenty of time to add something more.
He has his critics don’t we know it , but when he has had players with real flair, he has used that , and that shouldn’t change.

Is Ray also reappointed?

The announcement on the Home page mentions Roy, Ray and Paddy in relation to last season, but only mentions Roy being appointed for the coming season.

The club site confirms Ray as coach, Paddy as assistant manager and Dean Kiely as goalkeeper coach.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Potentially a double edged sword. On the one side, if he plays with the attacking intent of the last part of the season where we actually had a go at teams we are more than capable of a top ten finish may be even higher. However if he reverts to the football that was so bad we got Viera in, then its a no from me.

Im hoping that Roy has now seen what the boys can do if let off the leash, and will continue in the same vein that we finished off in, and if that's the case, I'm a happy bunny.

Looking at the fixtures ( first ten ) i'm expecting 16 points minimum what do you lot think ?

Sheff united Away 3 Pts
Arse at home ?
Brentford away 3
Wolves Home 3
Villa away 1
Foolham Home 3
Man united away ?
Foest Home 3
Newcastle away ?
Spuds Home ?

I think if we have ideas of top ten as Roy has muted, then 16 Points is a fair assessment of what we should should gain from those early games ?

Cheers Danny

Interesting comment from some random on the Mail Online website article:-

Palace not bothering with the long term, just want to milk the premier league cow for as long as possible.

The project of investing in incremental improvement, including stadium redevelopment and now investing in youth, could be the riposte to such a statement however could also be seen as the smoke and mirrors to keep the fans docile as this statement is indeed true.

I tend to flitter between both narratives, dependant on how my day is going usually

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Unfortunately there seems more than a little element of truth around that rather damning statement
