Read about the facts - cash for questions, ministerial conduct under his leadership with affairs and a lot more going on.
to come out with this crap for no reason while Boris is on foreign soil is unacceptable but John Major is a spineless man who just wants Boris gone - for the wrong reasons.
In summary - facts - read them - and timing!

I do recall at the time the left lambasting Major and his administration for being corrupt apparently they have forgotten that and like Dominic Cummings the Remainers now see them as a bastion of truth and honesty.

He's a bitter old man who almost wrecked the economy over the ERM. That was a scary day (massive interest rate hikes) when another Remainer favourite George Soros bounced us out of it whilst making himself a fortune.

You would have though that Soros would be a hate figure for the Remainers as that was the day Britain joining the Euro died a death.

And while I'm very happy for the economy, inflation is really high, coupled with petrol prices and gas and falling/static wages in many sectors.(if indeed, you were lucky enough to hold on to your job).
And do the figures for the economy also take into account the lessened burden of pensions, due to all those old people dying of covid. **Not having a pop at stirling, but am critiquing how statistics can be manipulated to suit most agendas.

Yep, though this is also true for the rest of Europe.

However, I don't disagree with you.....we are in the creek without a paddle.

Major was also the man who stood up to his whole cabinet Nd.most of his party let alone the majority of the country to initiate talks withe republicans that led to peace in Ireland that Blair largely takes credit for.

Just saying for balance.

Oh and i suspect it must be common ground among anyone with the IQ higher than a field mouse that despite Major's many faults he had more gravitas and integrity in his little finger than Boris has in his whole bloated carcass.

Boris has only one card to play. The affable buffoon who idiots elect; and it is a strong card.

So everybody who voted Conservative in the last GE is an idiot?

I am always happy to see the disgruntled losers claiming the thickies voted for the Conservatives, just the kind of comment to ensure the Red Wall stays blue.

Must be frustrating for you living in a country where idiots can vote.

I would imagine the Jewish community felt similarly upset that a party led by anti semites could get so many votes. As the idiots voted for the Conservatives then ones who voted for the anti semites were not idiots therefore deliberate in their choice of trying to make an anti semite PM.

Obviously if you disagree with the findings of the EHRC report on the Labour Party, as anti semites Corbyn, Burgon and their fellow travellers did, then most of foregoing will simply be dismissed.

Did you vote for Tony Blair?

I bet you did Silver.

No, Boris had Brexit to play and while he's been a disappointment your 'idiots' comment is unfortunate.

If we hadn't elected him it would have been said that the country had rejected Brexit, which was not the mood of the country over how the remainers had behaved....deliberately frustrating the referendum vote.

Their 'all or nothing' behaviour lost them compromises that were possible and they are more responsible for Johnson becoming the Tory leader win than they wish to acknowledge.

We don't know how much automation will cover an aging population. It Depends upon the advance of technology and what the elites want society to be.

The big issue about immigration....if we ignore all the ethnic stuff I tackled earlier in the thread.....is the simple fact that it's a ponzi scheme....which I'm sure you realise as well. Immigrants get old too....you can't keep importing ever greater numbers of young foreigners European or otherwise because it's unsustainable....they all want pensions too.

The answer to this was native birth rates allied with automation....and birth rates decades ago....some countries outside the western sphere of influence have long since woken up to this....birth rates are the key.....but not in the west because they have different goals.

The other temporary measure is guest worker systems that don't allow naturalization and where the time limits are actually enforced...Japan has taken this route. Though in Japan...because they gave a feck... you can actually tell who isn't Japanese most of the time.

I could go on about the rot social liberalism and certain aspects of feminism have closed doors for western societies but many books have been written on it and it makes no difference.....the current moves in the direction big money wishes to flow.

Those who think these things forward realise that the constant kicking of the can down the road doesn't end in new highways but rather dead ends.

Or we could just listen to the hippies and those waffling distractions on utopian ideas that never worked.

I was hoping someone else would pick this up and shake the hypocrisy out of it. I won't bother with it all, as it seems pretty obvious to me and stating the obvious gets tedious.

Like most conspiracy theories it takes a few half-truths, blends them with some assertions and then invents a set of conspirators (in this case a group of mythical "elites" to somehow pull a worldwide scheme together.

It's true that we don't know the future impact of technology, any more than we know the future level of immigration. We can though be fairly confident that human contact will never be replaced by a machine, however sophisticated.

Immigrants don't remain immigrants. Many become new British citizens. Unless, of course, you accept the PA type definition of what being British means. Some remain as effectively "guest" workers, coming here for seasonal work, or as a stopping point on a journey. All will pay their taxes and NI, and those who become British are as entitled to their pensions as anyone else.

Declining birth rates is a western phenomenon, which is unlikely to be reversed. Our new citizens being impacted by it, in time, just as much as everyone else. This isn't the time to try to analyse why this has happened, but the idea that it has been caused by feminism, or women no longer staying at home to raise children, is untrue. Working class women have always had to work. Only the middle classes could afford to have an angel at home, and a working class maid in the kitchen.

Whether people can accept it we are now part of a global economy. One that has evolved, and not been designed. It isn't going to be reversed by raising any drawbridges. In this new world there will continue to be many population shifts, exacerbated by the consequences of global warming.

Our response can either be to protest, shout loudly through megaphones and complain about a lack of representation, with the occasional nutcase killing a few people with their anger. Or we can plan how best to use the situation to our, and everyone else's, benefit.

When things are destined to change, we must make sure that change is seen as positive and not simply rejected because it's uncomfortable.

I can't be bothered tackling your re-definitions and unrealistic statements that don't account for how human nature actually works nor tackles the logic of ponzi systems....I think you full well know but as it isn't going to affect you negatively you couldn't care less....It's perhaps obvious that you decided long ago to bat against your own side as you're too old to have been indoctrinated at a university....or is it your side?....Mmmm, that's perhaps an actual conspiracy theory.

Regardless, as you continually waffle about conspiracy theories....even though the evidence for what I say is out there and official in policies and laws and isn't even hidden for those actually looking I'll post this meme....it seems to sum up your typical positioning rather well.

Anyone who describes immigration as a Ponzi scheme designed by elites, must expect the reasoning, all of which is copied from dark corners of the internet, to be described as a conspiracy theory. For that is all it is.

Using official policies and laws as the justification is the usual excuse, for that is exactly what I said happens. Mix some truth with assertion to paint a picture that exists only in the imagination.

We are pretty much middle of the table for G7 countries if you you measure from the start of covid. This is a little bit out of date as the latest numbers are now in from ONS and I think we are behind US, Canada and France.

Dark corners of the Internet? What dark corners of the Internet? The guys who talks about assertions does little else.

This is stated openly and has been for decades....If it's new to you it must be because you only exist in leftist circles where these policies and directions are celebrated.

Explain how the picture of immigration to top up tax income to pay for an aging population isn't a ponzi scheme.
