So a black guy was crying on LBC as his friend had died in the course of a few days from c19. Felt for the dude and he tried to get the message over to bame listeners to take it seriously and it is real, stop being stupid and obey the rules. Fair enough and a positive message, annoyingly fogarty couldnt wait to tell him it's not just bame. Ffs how is the message going to get through it a presenter wants to share out the blame, if it's the correct word to use.
Important messages are being missed because equality is soooooo important.
In this case it wasnt as if the truth be known it's not only socioeconomic reasons that more bame are dying. It's got to be genetics as well.
I wonder why ethnicity isnt highlighted with death tbh. It would surely help everyone of whichever colour protect each other. In this particular scenario f*** equality. Rant over.

More rubbish from the BBC again trying to justify the licence fee.

[Link]

1. ‘each hour of BBC TV watched by a household costs it around 9p’, for an ‘equivalent’ streaming service the cost per hour ‘consumed by the household’ was about 15p.

2. Tim Davie, said that a bundle of subscriptions offering comparable ‘high-quality’ and ‘advertising-free’ services to the BBC across ‘video, audio and news’ would cost over £400 per year as compared with the £157.50 licence fee.

1. The cost of the licence is £14pm the cheapest package on Netflix is £6pm the numbers they use are simply made up.

I probably watch the BBC 1 hour per week so for me it is bloody expensive on their calculation if you watch it 12 hours a day then it probably is good value. However it still costs £157 pa for all of us. As for the streaming services the same rules apply if you watch Netflix all the times its good value.

2. Another made up figures £400 pa I doubt you would get many takers so they would have to make cutbacks, they could start with BBC news that employs 6000 people.

Nobody has the balls to say whether the virus is worse depending on your genetic makeup although I’m pretty sure they know the answer to that question. As you rightly say it is disguised by a socio-economic argument.

Teddy put a link to khant agreeing that ethnicity should be used as a factor for having the jab.
Always been known to affect bame more but for some reason ,as you say there are too many scardy cats at the top to highlight it. Identity politics is actually costing and cost the lives of 1000s of bame unnecessarily. Ironic really considering all we hear and see is black lives matter.

Try switching off the BBC News, or any other actually, for say 3 months.

Then switch back on you will be surprised at the obvious censorship and it is not left wing.

What it portrays is a distortion of events to a predominately middle class audience.

The absurd jingoism, the World Cup vaccine victory over Europe bangs on in every bulletin, like an important world event.

Turn it off and think foe yourself, whether left or right.

You're wasting your breath. Those who agree are already persuaded. Those who think the beeb is a leftist stronghold CANNOT be persuaded.

The right populist leaning do have a point as progressive left does permeate much of the output. However against this you have to consider 2 things. One they confuse woke/inclusivity for left leaning whereas this is imposed by statute (whether they agree or not).

Two there is genuine fear among many groups not least Jews about the rise of populist nationalism. Like it or not these groups punch way above their weight in politics and the media so the kind of product hated on here is likely to be well received there.

Why should celebrating the success of the vaccine programme have any political component though. There are many thousands of people who are working flat out to get us out of this mess who deserve to have their efforts highlighted.

The issue around the licence fee is not the cost, it is the compulsion. That is what makes it morally indefensible in this day and age. If the Government wants a state broadcaster then let them pay for it out of wider taxation.

But to force people to pay it with the threat of jail in any kind of related context? In the 21st century, simply unjustifiable anymore.

Moving away from the main thrust of the thread, although this is related to the bbc, i noticed today on their sport website(football) that Garth Crooks 'Team Of The Week' had actually been sorted without waiting for tonights game.

BBC bias against us, yet again?

tho tbf who WOULD make the team based on recent results/performances.

This was an easy to find headline on the BBC website this morning.
Not so easy to find was the news that we vaccinated 500,000 people yesterday in the amazing effort that continues to be a world beater.
No need to for BBC to big up the UK - they wouldn't want to do that would they now!
DEFUND THE BBC!
