Being a good tv pundit does not qualify someone for football management.
The sport and training methods have moved on in 10 years.
If he was any good or had any management ambitions he'd have proved it in the lower leagues. He hasn't.

Given what's available, I think our refusal to go for anyone non British is holding us back and could cost us. Allardyce and Pulis are relegation savers, there's none of them really left. Eddie Howe has done a great job and Dyche is not bad but in general the reason that clubs tend to go foreign in the modern game is simply because the quality is higher. It's exactly the same as the national players. I'd understand if we were a bigger club and wanted to help fix this situation but we're not, and we really should be going for the best manager regardless of if they're british or not.
