Who would have thought there would be (at least) 65 pages on holmesdale.net for the goalie letting in David Butterfield's famous 11 minute hat-trick vs Wolves (replay FA Cup)? As our own no. 1 goalie......I'm happy with him, but would not mind signing Sunderland's Pickford, tough.

How many saves did he make v Chelsea when we won 2-1.....I'd call that a match winning performance.... After the Southampton game last season we went to Stoke and won 2-1. Stoke battered us and Wayne produced one of the top 5 goalie performances I have ever seen from a Palace goalie. I think he made 4 or 5 world class saves in that game alone. Whilst I love/loved Speroni the Villa mistake was similar to Jules v Huddersfield in our promotion season.

I'd keep hennessey as #1 if it meant we could sign sakho. Definitely. A new keeper could cost north of 15m. If its a choice Sakho or new keeper its Sakho every time

We survived in spite of Wayne Hennessey not because of him! The only game in which his performance contributed to a positive result was at Stamford Bridge! Otherwise it has simply been stop the opposition shooting as he has scarcely ever pulled anything special out of the bag to save us and made countless errors!

I feel sorry the amount of criticism he generally gets. Some deserved and some knit picking. Every time we lose it's his fault or ward or puncheon. You win and lose as a team. Tell me one team that there isn't a weak link.

If we leave the forward one on one with the keeper what do we expect? You might as well demand that he save 100% of penalties. Then hey Presto! You can give away as many penalties as you like.

The way I see it is , he has the frame to be a successful gk. let's also be honest that at the very start of the season. Hennessy was the 2nd choice. Did he reclaim the gloves due to form probably not. No due to mandanda injury and then he lack of interest to play for the club again.

The harsh reality is he isn't good enough to a number 1 at a premier league club. A more than capable no.2 but we definitely need an upgrade next season. Ideally Begovic for me.

Like what cpfc/sccc stated he started the season as a number 2. We were never gonna sign a gk in the Jan window. We been linked with a few gk. I'm sure it's a position that Sam will upgrade.
