sounds like their chairman is a complete arse and they don't even talk, that could tip things in our favour

I reckon he sees a bit of himself in Parish. A fairly young guy with massive commitment, prepared to be very open with him and give his full support. I think it as much as a yes to CPFC2010 than a no to Eddie Mitchell.

Just Seen Stevenage destroy Newcastle, Graham Wesley's post match interview was from a man focused on his job, determined to win, he's a born winner. There's no doubt in my mind he is a Manager with a future, hopefully one day at Palace. His teams work and train hard, and he milks every ounce of potential out of his players. Graham Wesley as Palace Manager.....one day!

Don't mean to be negative because I hope he comes and does very well but Roy Hodgson did fantastically well at Fulham before moving to Liverpool and the events there today should serve as a reminder that the past is irrelevant in football management. I think it's important that he doesn't get built up to ridiculous levels where everybody thinks he'll trigger a Dowie-esque push for promotion, when realistically that was a bit of a miracle and we'll do very well just to stay up.

What I don't understand is why I want Howe. This time last week I knew little about him and wanted Coppell. Now the Howe hype has gripped me! I bet he ends up being a young Trevor Francis!

I know, the Howe hysteria has gone from indifference to foaming at the mouth hysteria to appoint him in just a couple of days!

You can see how the whole Hitler/Nazi thing happened can't you

This is the kind of manager I think i'll be very happy to back 100%. He seems to be a really genuine, respectful, honest guy who gets his team attacking with a tight defence. He's the kind of manager that if we did happen to go down, he would be absolutely perfect to bounce straight back from it and stronger. it will be refreshing to have a manager that's not been built up from past and distancing one off successes (Francis, Burley, Taylor) and who looks to be on the up.

Absolutely, any new manager needs to be totally backed. I'm just slightly concerned that some will assume he'll carry his Bournemouth record straight over to us when realistically he, like any other manager, is going to have half a season of struggle ahead. We've done well to tie our main players down and with a decent addition or two should hopefully have enough to stay up but even if we don't I think it's time we stuck with a manger for a longer period of time to build a team rather than calling for his head if we don't immediately rocket to the top of the form table.

IF he is to become the new boss then I would have mixed feelings, firstly he might be too young and inexperienced to take on such a big job of getting us out of relegation fear but I think he's doing really well at Bournemouth as he had a transfer embargo last year.

What do you all think?

Eddie Howe is definitely leaving AFCB, and almost certainly to Crystal Palace, rather than Charlton or Burnley.

On Sunday/Monday he will say: "Hardest decitions of my life...I love Bournemouth... but it's the right move... too good an opportunity to turn down", etc.

And who can blame him? He has taken Bournemouth far above anyone expected when he took the job two years ago.

There is simply no money at Bournemouth for a shot at the Championship (should AFCB get promoted). We have a property developer/wide boy chairman who struck lucky when he appointed EH (because EH was the youth team coach ie cheap!).
AFCB will now gently slip down the league (with another legend Steve Fletcher as manager) and back towards oblivion.
No hard feelings to Palace. That's football/life. Best of luck to you.

Come on pal, don't give up hope yet.

Just finished the bottle of whisky. Now loading the revolver...
