I hope the DNC persuade him to step forward now. If not it will be Harris. Both can offer fresh impetus and beat Trump, which they concentrate on rather than be too distracted by actually being President. Today’s verdict on Hunter provides Joe with an exit door he can take without too much more damage. I have noticed an interesting pivot from you recently WE about Biden - previously you were confidently claiming that the numerous videos showing Biden falling, tripping, freezing and talking gibberish were either faked or cleverly edited and that he was a “safe pair of hands” - your position on this now favours his removal and replacement. So even you now recognise that he is a senile old boy who should be somewhere safe and comfortable (possibly in a care home situation)?

Trump was in the dock. Joe wasn't. That can tend to influence responses. Everything can. The fact remains that Joe Biden’s responses to both Trump’s and Hunter’s convictions has been restrained and dignified whilst Trump’s has been anything but.

Interesting reading the comments from several jurors who have given interviews to media outlets. They pretty much say the same thing that Biden's defence was laughable, the prosecution showed that Biden took drugs days before and after he bought the gun so the idea he was clean was ridiculous. Biden was condemned out of his own mouth the prosecution used extracts from his own biography in court, stupid is as stupid does. More is to come as Biden is now facing the much more serious tax evasion charges. As for the laptop which the Secret Service tried to discredit and which 51 retired security officials claimed was a fake well I think most people accept is real. What more is on there?

So even you now recognise that he is a senile old boy who should be somewhere safe and comfortable (possibly in a care home situation)? Many of those videos have been very carefully selected and edited to present the picture his opponents want to present. You don’t have to edit Trump. You can use almost any video of him to tell the story. The reverse is true. You edit to try to find something that makes him look intelligent. I have though consistently said I didn’t think Biden should stand again and that I have no special regard for him. I think a younger fresh face needs to consign this era to history and try to bring the divisiveness in US politics more under control. Biden did his job in 2020 when he stopped Trump. His administration have repaired much of the damage and allowed the US economy to recover better after the pandemic than elsewhere but to continue that a new hand on the tiller is needed. The most important thing is to ensure Trump is stopped again.

He has been convicted, but not yet sentenced. We will see what is considered appropriate in his circumstances. The fact remains he is not even a politician, let alone President or candidate to be President. He is a man with a disturbed family history with a drug addiction. Recording his activities on a lap top was stupid, but so is taking drugs. Another fact is although stupid they were private. Political opponents trawling through them looking for anything that could be manipulated and presented in ways to damage his father which then try to suggest equivalence to Trump is disgusting behaviour. Only Hunter could know whether any of the images which are being used are genuine or whether they have been enhanced. In the state he seems to have been in, whether even he will know is doubtful. So I anticipate a lot of innuendo coming down the line. It’s started already with Trump repeating the evidence free claims that this is only the tip of the ice berg and that Joe is up to his neck in corruption. It’s typical Trump. Tell the Big Lie often enough and people become so familiar with it they start to regard it as the truth.

The typical sentence for this crime is 6-12 months according to the BBC and this judge has sentenced people along those lines. Anything less is a cop out anything more maybe unfair.

That is exactly what the trial was designed to show. A nothing charge in his home state with a corrupt legal system. He won't do any time and your Democrat friends can poke Trump a bit more. Transparent, pathetic and predictable.

Assuming this is the same judged that KO'd the sweetheart deal because it did not include jail time, it would be odd for that same judge to not give jail time.

Let's see what happens. If he does any jail time, it will be minimal and designed to keep him out of the headlines. I'll be happy to admit I was wrong

I'll be happy to admit I was wrong I think it will be minimal and he will get time of for good behaviour so will probably only serve a few months, however that seems to be the norm for that offence.
