And all I have said is that your logic, and those who think like you, is skewed and needs to be rethought. According to you I, and every other man, who showered with his teenage daughter after a sporting activity of some sort, ought not to do so. Only tonight I have been with someone who is an open water swimmer and together with his daughter took part in an event this weekend. After which there were communal showers which they took together. It’s normal. I no more think that taking a shower in private, with a teenage daughter if both were naked, is appropriate than you do. Unless we know that’s what happened rather than just presume it did, my judgement is suspended. And we will never know. The skewed logic is in thinking anyone would think a family showering together after swimming was worth recording let alone it having any effect on her years after the event.

Why she felt like that when she wrote the entry is unknown. What we do know is she has subsequently said the assertions being made are false. I am only defending the truth. Not inappropriate behaviour which I condemn unconditionally. The rest of the above has no connection to the issue. It is simply a restatement of deep prejudices. So everywhere you look there are adverts and suggestions that help is available for mental health issues. All you have to do is speak up. dopeys daughter has spoken up about hers in print and the possible reasons why, but because a sitting president might be some of the cause of those issues it’s not relevant iyo.

The tactics he uses of the 'facts' not being known when they clearly are, are the same that he uses to excuse the blind eye turned by the police to paedophile gangs among certain 'communities' in northern towns. However, when it comes to the likes of whether people were silently praying or the motives of bakers turning down business, or indeed absolutely anyone that he disapproves of doing anything remotely amiss, then he would win an olympic gold medal in jumping to conclusions. His other tactic is to simply deny that a reprehensible action by someone he approves of simply did not happen and was made up. Longer standing posters on here may recall his absurd stance of the statue of John Chilembwe erected on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square. Chilembwe was a preacher in Africa who organised the murder of a white farm manager and others and preached a sermon with the severed head of the manager impaled on a pole next to him. When I and others questioned the suitability of such a person being on the fourth plinth, his defence of it was that the events did not happen and were merely imperial propaganda. This despite there being a trial and testimonies from the manager’s widow who witnessed the beheading with her children.

Hunter Biden looks to be in trouble. His defence strategy is that since he was in Rehab that means he is NOT a drug user and so therefore was allowed to buy a gun. I think the jury will see through that one especially as his girlfriend (widow of his brother but hey ho) threw that that gun away after several days because she was scared about him using it in a drug addled moment. In other news man being prosecuted for speeding says he 's not guilty because he's not speeding at the moment. After this trial California is awaiting it seems Hunter doesn't like paying his taxes. Then be happy I don’t think that. What I am saying is that we don’t know the context. Which could have been a huge number of different things, from my example to that which others presume. All we do have is her own statement that those presumptions are false. So why continue with the presumptions? Why not acknowledge that we don’t know, don’t need to know and never will know. That would be honest. Anything else is simply political smearing.

Edited by Badger11 (05 Jun 2024 8.04am) He does, although bringing a case on this basis rather than dealing with it outside the court system has a nasty smell of political revenge hanging over it. We will see what the jury says. If found guilty what the punishment ordered by the Judge will be is just as interesting, given the circumstances of his addiction. Anyone in the public eye, or indeed any acquaintance, would get the same reaction. She did, but she also said that the interpretations being made were false. So why would she say that? She could have thought they were probably not appropriate because they might create the kind of impression that they have. So then had to say they were false when they did. You can have whatever suspicions your instincts allow. For political opponents of Joe Biden to spread them as they have is pure political smearing. You cannot defend that. I prefer not to judge without evidence.

Edited by Wisbech Eagle (05 Jun 2024 8.56am) But but but you keep telling us that the US justice system isn't political? What was political was the DA's sweetheart deal thrown out by a judge. Not only was Biden just given a slap on the wrist for the serious crimes he was charged with he was also given a pardon for any crimes he had not been charged with, quite incredible. The only times that these type of deals are given out is when a defendant agrees to co-operate and give up a bigger fish. Biden's deal did not include any requirement for that which is why the judge threw it out. You talk about help and yet he was already in Rehab, sympathy for criminal behaviour can only go so far. His girlfriend was sufficiently worried about his mental health to throw the gun away. Drug related gun crime is a serious issue in the US many many murders / shootings are related to people who are high on drugs hence this law. If Biden was poor and black there would have been no sweetheart deal and no public interest and he would get serious jail time. Not many people run for President so it is hard to judge Trump's crimes against similar cases because there aren't many. However Biden is charged with common crimes that happen every day in the US so if he is found guilty there is a benchmark for his punishment. We will see.

Edited by Badger11 (05 Jun 2024 9.15am) Hunter Biden is.not a politician, but appears to be being targeted because his father is. The so called sweetheart deal is often made in the USA for people whose personal issues can mean there are better ways than a court to improve things. That the deal was trashed was politically inspired. No matter. If he is proven guilty and convicted by a jury let’s see what the Judge decides is the best course of action. Which might be jail, if he is fit to be interred. Or might be confined rehab if he is not.
