The transfer of James Daly, and four other academy players going out on loan caused me to look at previous seasons leavers and I was sad to note that we have a record of exporting academy products. While I do not expect Connor Wickham to be with us for 2022/3, I do hope that the others out on loan do get PL game time next season. I hope Roy could imagine an injury crisis now and again and give our youth some game time - as AWB enjoyed. the good news is that Cenk Tuson is mid-twenties and like many of our established players can not be expected to be around next season. Perhaps following this windows exporting there will be some new faces (preferably our own young products on 2020/2021 PL teamsheets. COYP

That the people in charge for Palace didn't complete the deals is not dazza's fault

COYP I was sad to see Daly go, but overall there can be no better scouting than seeing someone day in day out. So, rightly or wrongly the club does not rate him, Equally he’s stepping down a few leagues, which potentially reinforces that view. But I wish him all the best. The only one lately I can remember that we let go cheaply and did well was Grabban. I still think he’s a bit s***e but people paid a lot for him so I guess that’s the acid test.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

You stick with it mate. I won’t blame Wilf if he leaves in the summer, then we are f***ed. The AWB money is not reinvested, nor will any Wilf money be reinvested. Next season will be difficult.
we knew last window what we needed..... we know Wilf is going in the summer, so we should already be looking but we wont... it is unfortunate what happened with fergie but i cant believe how WBA managed to "hide" a season ending knee injury that needs an op from us for so long ; surely they knew it would show up in the medical?

And then the f*ckers refused to renegotiate the deal. Yes we are incompetent and this is to be expected when Parish tries to get through cheapskate deals at the 11th hour, but WBA haven’t covered themselves particularly well with this transfer.

Dazza's info was pretty good - not his fault they didn't go through so no point in people having a pop at him.

I am not a great fan of the other forum but I do pop in now and again just to look at one thread only (the academy thread) as there are a couple of lads that post there that seem to know a lot about the academy and it's players and one of them has been saying for quite a while that he didn't think Daly would make it. No doubt he was sold for a fairly low price but hopefully there is a substantial add on in the event of him turning out well and being sold for mega bucks

He may have gone quiet but most of what you said happpened but didn’t get over the line. Keep the flow coming.

Only positive I can take from the whole s hit show is that we were at least ‘looking’ at younger, hungry players. We should be picking up top talent from the championship like this. So disappointing it well beyond our means. Thoroughly depressing was really hoping to inject so enthusiasm, energy and quality into this team for the last part of this season. We could have even achieved something. Depressing
