Direct election interference from Donald Tusk.

This kind of thing happens all the time now, left or right.

There is an obvious link between health and pension age extension.
The same link between us living longer and NHS usage.
Also all these billionaires and the top 1% actually
Pay 25% of tax take.
Irrelevant what % of what they earn is payed it is still an absolute huge amount.
If labour get in power they will raise tax for the top 5% of earners.
That will be from around 75k upwards.
When the very highest earners give it the middle finger labour will slowly scratch another 1% down then another 1% down.
Before long 40k will have a tax increase.
Then pensions then home owners.
Socialism wants equality.
The only people who will be unaffected are the feckless and work shy.

There is also a link between the ages of starting work - my day used to be 15/16, now minimum 18 and if you go to uni 21/22 so later starting to pay tax/NIC

Everyone will be negatively affected by the next Labour government whether it is Corbyn or whoever. It would be nothing like what happened in the 70’s and Blair has laid the groundwork for this. It would entirely destroy our country if that hasn’t already happened anyway. Take a walk down the Uxbridge road and it looks like it’s too late to avoid this.

Well said Becky, start work at 15 retire at 65 and die at 70, that was how the state pension was planned. Today people live longer and in retirement are entitled to benefits in addition to the state pension.

In short we are all costing the taxpayer more money. As Tux is fond of saying it's a Ponzi scheme.

Just the way of the world. I always like to think that Obama's intervention in 2016 was one of the things that swung it for the Leave side.

And I loved Tusk's comments about how us Leavers are hankering for 'Empire'. LOL. Especially given what Guy van Hofstadt said recently.

Surely the point of us leaving the EU is that we don't want to be part of an 'Empire'.

Let us hope for more interventions like this. All helpful.

Not to pick on you, but, this is the problem right?

We seem to view politics as a match of football, where we support a team no matter what.

Boris did win London twice, but what did he actually do? Not just him, I'm not sure I can actually name a thing of note any London Mayor has done.

This is why I try not to read newspapers and watch things like Question Time, because there's never any in depth discussion on the matters and because papers like The Sun were Labour through and through and now they're full on Conservative. The Mirror is the reverse. How can you honestly switch your views so drastically? I've seen a better attempt in forums like this one, although not always successfully, to try and discuss issues.

Have you visited London since he was Mayor? He improved the transport system no end (especially bus service) IMO

Horsham have just started building another 2750 homes on green belt land and are seriously considering allowing a 12 storey high incinerator to be built as well.

Yep, plus advertising of what Labour's conference voted for to be their policies in respect of immigration...This needs to be front and centre in all Labour's northern heartlands.

Maintain and extend free movement rights

Close all detention centres

End “no recourse to public funds” policies

Scrap all Hostile Environment measures… and restrictions on migrants’ NHS access

Extend equal rights to vote to all UK residents regardless of nationality

Oppose the current immigration legislation and any curbing of rights

Campaign for free movement, equality and rights for migrants

Reject any immigration system based on incomes, migrants’ utility to business, and number caps/targets

Ensure unconditional right to family reunion

But apart from the transport and buses, sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what has Boris ever done for us?

Does anyone know how many other democratic western countries allow non citizens full voting rights?

Most allow voting for local councils, the dog catcher etc. but I would be surprised if many allow votes in National elections?

It's shameful gerrymandering if we are going to play that game then the Tories should bring back the extra business vote.

Then they will all naff off to foreign climes just like they did in the seventies when Labour thought that could tax people until the pips squeaked with some people expected to pay 98%
