He's had an OK season. No great calamities like the Villa one last season. The home game against Chelsea was his only big error, plus a few goals he could perhaps have done better with, depending on your viewpoint. The only thing I'd agree with you on is that he doesn't tend to have match-winning performances - Southampton last year is the last one I can honestly remember. All keepers make mistakes - e.g. people keep saying we should go for Pickford but he made a bad error at the weekend. Unfortunately it is the one position where an error punishes you. Benteke might miss a few sitters but it is the goalie errors you tend to remember. As I've said several times on here, I thought we should get rid of all 3 keepers and start afresh next season. However, now Parish has decided to give Speroni yet another year, that isn't going to happen, and we'll be in the same boat next season with either WH or a replacement having to be unfairly compared to Speroni all the time. Whether we get a new number one will I suppose depend on how much money Sam has to spend and what positions he sees as being more important to upgrade/replace.

All of those clubs would prefer goalkeepers from the past :- Man City - Joe Corrigan Or am I /we all just living in the past a bit , and not taking into account how much the game has changed and how much the ball modern ball moves and makes the keepers look bad when they concede ? All I know is that I watch football now and there are many more keeping 'errors' every week as opposed to the golden days of keeping.

How many saves did he make v Chelsea when we won 2-1.....I'd call that a match winning performance....

The problem is that we struggle to scrape up any other games in which Hennessey made a game-saving stop - something that Speroni used to do consistently.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

There were six teams in the PL who had a worse goals against record than us. One of them have a goal keeper

After the match on Sunday y I met Wayne, genuinely nice bloke. Signed my lads programme and had a pic, as he was walking away someone asked him if he was still going to be here next season to which he replied "I hope so". I have to admit feeling a little sorry for him, clearly knows he is not a fan favourite, he enjoys being part of the palace. We could do worse.....Stockdale Edited by lefty27 (17 May 2017 7.39pm)

Think if a teams have a bad patch then fans like to single out a scapegoat and Hennessey is an easy target and so has Kelly been But I think both have proved to be invaluable, they both have spent time waiting for their chance and I think they have both had good seasons and proved they're good enough for the premier league
