This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Maybe the key to redeveloping the ground is a partnership with Sainsbury's, which I believe has been proposed before. A new store coupled with a rebuild of the Main, Whitehorse and Arthur stands with cost sharing and perhaps naming rights (which I personally hate, Sainsbury's Stadium at Selhurst Park is not something I look forward to) might be the compromise that moves things forward.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave I would be astonished if the Americans see sense in spending a lot of money on Selhurst right now. Much wiser building a truly world class training academy and training facilities.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I think your'e right. In any case things seem to have got really bogged down in termsof plannning permission, Sainsbury's holding the club to ransom, etc. Much better to prioritise the youth acadmey and further improve the training ground

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave at the end of the day naming rights will mean jack diddaley squat to us fans. It doesnt even bother me in the slightest if they have the naming rights as it will always, AlWAYS be known to us as sel hurst park and never sainsburys stadium
my boy is 5 and he will be brought up knowing its called sel hurst and not sainsburys as well Originally posted by kenbarr

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave I had dinner Saturday night with a couple of friends & our other halves, one a swiss season ticket holder, the other an architect. The architect's company, Populous, got told on Friday that they were out of the running to redesign Selhurst Park; so it seems safe to assume that something is still planned re upgrade of the Stadium.

I'd say it's safer to assume that nothing is happening anytime soon, hence standing the architects down.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave I thought that Parish had been working with the people who designed Liverpool's new Main Stand, KSS Architects? They could do a lot worse than use the people who have transformed Bristol City's ground though. Although the away end was still quite basic, the rest of it looked very good, whilst still retaining the character of the old place

Got lunch with him next week, Good work fella. If you can, see if you can find up what the hold up is. So far all we keep hearing is that Sainsbury's are difficult to negotiate with, but nothing should take years and years surely?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave That was never going to happen! It was simply a quickly drawn up 'spoiler' to tell Spurs to keep their hands off CP Park (which they said they would develop in order to be given the Olympic Stadium site, again a rouse to drum up support from Haringey to redevelop WHL)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave The money has gone. Wages. There will be no proper redevelopment. Why else did the club take out a bank loan in the spring?
