I guess those that have lost their jobs, livelihoods etc might not agree that “it was not that difficult “

It is not CV that worries me it is our Government’s response to the situation.

All the best..

Much more important is to ensure that we keep the number of those who lose their lives to the absolute minimum. We can collectively support those who lose their jobs and livelihoods.

Economies recover. Dead people don't.

While I know people don't have to get on like political peas in a pod here, "People die, that's life" as reply to someone talking about their Mum dying has to be a new low. What an absolutely pitiful place the politics section has turned into.

You need to take a look at yourself. Using shame as a tactic to close down debate is what is low, not stating the sequence of life and death. You choose the former.

Mapletree stated that his mother died from muscular atrophy and neglect as I remember. (Neglect is a quite serious allegation, and I hope he makes a complaint and follows it through incidentally). I also seem to remember that he blamed Covid-19. Nobody challenged that properly in respect of the fact he had lost his mother. But he then used his late mother's death as a reason to shut down debate. My morals allow debate. Regardless of peoples emotions. Using someone's emotions to stifle debate is deplorable.

That's a completely different issue.

The great reset.

To capture the imagination and will of humanity – change will only happen if people really want it.

The economic recovery must put the world on the path to sustainable employment, livelihoods and growth. Longstanding incentive structures that have had perverse effects on our planetary environment and nature herself must be reinvented

Systems and pathways must be redesigned to advance net zero transitions globally. Carbon pricing can provide a critical pathway to a sustainable market.

Science, technology and innovation need re-invigorating. Humanity is on the verge of catalytic breakthroughs that will alter our view of what it possible and profitable in the framework of a sustainable future.
Investment must be rebalanced. Accelerating green investments can offer job opportunities in green energy, the circular and bio-economy, eco-tourism and green public infrastructure.

Sounds terrible. More of a thought piece than an actual, cat stroking conspiracy to take over the world. All of the above is hardly revelatory or even new in terms of direction of travel. This simply presents an opportunity for alignment and acceleration behind an approach like this, or something similar.

Also, tech corporates don’t need to invent a pandemic (not that they could anyway) in order to gain even more control. That’s already well under way. Has been since the advent of social media. No conspiracy, just the inevitable conclusion of the current course playing out in plain sight. The social dilemma on Netflix is worth a watch. You never know, you might learn something useful.

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

As you know very well it isn't. It's that wars are fought over religion.

The atrophy was a direct result of lockdown due to covid cases. I don’t remember shutting down debate. But it’s nice you were paying attention.

Is Phil’s mother in law less important than my mother?

That might be my opinion, and perhaps yours too, but it isn't theirs. Matters of faith can inolve very different levels of personal evidence but more often are simply taken on trust, because of culture.

Conspiracy theories can generally be objectively fact-checked. The evidence either exists or it doesn't. It's not wrapped up in ancient scripture.

Moonies? Mormons? Scientologists? They’re not very ancient. The point is that millions of people are prepared to accept ideas without evidence.

You have proof that it wasn't neglect? You did state lack of care, which suggests it. I apologise if I misunderstood what you posted.

Neither of your mother's are unimportant. Why would you think that was my meaning? But you still want to make me feel guilt by implying that I made a distinction between two unrelated deaths. This is a much used ploy these days. Shame people. Question their morals. Condemn their ideals as immoral. And then cancel their right to reply. A fair debate in the eyes of the morally enlightened social warriors.

How about cut out the emotions and debate the issues?

I remember Mapletree did say his mother’s death was due to lockdown because I remember misreading it a little and saying it happened because of lockdown. I trod a bit carefully I think but I have had to say the same to someone who’s lost their 45 year old son who I also knew years ago due to nhs keeping everything closed unnecessarily throughout the summer.
