Whilst we are still in the grip of this pandemic and with the continually developing picture, the focus of the UK Govt. (and administrations in many of the other Countries affected) will remain targeted on infection control measures until more is known about the viability or success of the various vaccines which are currently under development. How much of this is personal knowledge Phil and how much is what you read in the newspapers because I wouldn’t trust a word they say. They are currently under instruction by government IMO to try and scare the population into acting more responsibly. I believe there is a damn good reason why there is a north/south divide on infection rate but I’d probably get arrested if I share it.

To be honest I don't peruse any 'News' programmes any more as the Coronavirus saturation levels has resulted in steam coming out of my ears. I,and I suspect very many others, have been self-combusting and quite frankly have had enough of the whole subject as presented on new bulletins. I am sick to the back teeth of hearing about darned 'Tiers', 'Circuit break', 'Fire break' 'Lockdown 2' etc etc and those damn graphs explained by lugubrious and saturnine chaps who I could never picture with faces wreathed in merriment.

Well, I suggest you don't listen to any 'expert' advice, guidance or regulations and just do your own thing then. What could possibly go wrong. Or you can exercise some stoicism and grow a pair.

I adhere to the guidance and regulations, I wear a mask whenever it is required and follow social distancing rules but quite frankly have had enough of all the saturation coverage on the news bulletins.

Agreed. I keep to the rule but I have no interest in the saturation coverage I prefer to listen to music and talking books anything but this.

My sister is a doctor, a consultant in respiratory medicine and a Director for NHS England. My parents are both late eighties and were both in the shielding category when that was in effect. My Mother in Law passed away in hospital from Covid-19 in March of this year. I try to be as informed on the subject as I possibly can be from both personal source and open source material. As for the infection rate, It doesn’t take a genius to work out why certain groups / areas are seeing a higher infection rate than others.

I said right from the beginning that it would all end in tiers
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

So as a consultant, did your sister say whether or not once you have had it you can catch the same virus again or is it a strain that has mutated that you catch the second/third time, or do they just not know?

The human body stores in the background the memory of antibodies. Always has. There isn’t much unknown about that. Either the press or imperial college just omitted this key piece of biology. I could believe that some might never be immune to Covid but not that stuff yesterday.
