You are getting extremely boring. I'm happy for Reform to get votes, so why am I concerned about foreign plots? It actually sounds like a conspiracy theory put about by people afraid of Nigel Farage's popularity. This concerns the social media being flooded by bots posing as Reform supporters. The intention being to influence the vote. That’s election inference. Everyone ought to be concerned and no one support it. It needs investigation and publicity, if proved true, which given what has been reported seems almost certain.

Do you ever go out except for seeing your bowls mates? Support for Reform is growing, and it's no surprise given the circumstances. You blame the Chinese if it makes you feel better.

The Reform vote is increasing daily. It was notable that the BBC mentioned that both the labour and conservative vote had dropped, but not where it had gone! No surprise there. I would suggest that the BBC are having a far greater effect with miss/selective information than Russia! The polls are also UK wide. It appears that the Reform percentage in England is already above the tory vote. If the trend continues as it is they may well have a shout at being involved in a hung Parliament. With 3 weeks to go and starmer avoiding answering any questions with a straight answer and the more Farage is seen on TV the higher the Reform vote will go. We are not far away from being to be able to say that a vote for the tories is a wasted vote. I like many are sick to death of being lied to, misled, and do as I say not do as I do politics.

We are not far away from being to be able to say that a vote for the tories is a wasted vote. I like many are sick to death of being lied to, misled, and do as I say not do as I do politics. That’s not true. It was analysed quite thoroughly by Professor John Curtice in his piece. He suggested that the drops were going to Reform but damaging the Tories much more because of the size of the Labour lead. Elsewhere there are many predictions that although Reform could possibly end up with more votes than the Tories that would not translate into seats. They could end up being second in a huge number but still get less than 3 seats, whilst the Tories get up to 100. That’s because their vote is evenly spread over the whole country. Farage knows that and is already making waves about it. I see no way that Farage could be involved in a hung Parliament. I suspect that a grand coalition is more likely than that, and that is almost impossible.

We have an opposition too. With Brexit they even agreed with the government. During the referendum MP’s were free to campaign on their beliefs. That continued, to a degree, as the progress to a “deal” staggered to a conclusion, even if Johnson did his best to suspend the sovereignty of Parliament. The opposition don’t oppose everything. They subject things to scrutiny and expose weaknesses but can, and do, reach agreement when it makes sense to do so.

The point being that the combined efforts of the majority parties weren't enough to counter this supposed Russian interference.

You blame the Chinese if it makes you feel better. I know that. Farage entering has given them both a boost and a familiar face to bring focus. It helps having a TV channel to pontificate on every day. People are always seduced by promises that things will be better from those who have never actually had to deliver on any of them. Farage did it with UKIP and then left it to the Tories to carry the can. He is doing it again with UKIP mark 111 knowing full well he won’t be anywhere near government. You put make up on a pig, but it’s still a pig. Unfortunately some people can’t see beyond the make up. Doesn’t make a lot of difference in the short term. Reform might get anything between 15% and 20% but still only between 0 and 3 seats. It’s the distribution of those votes which makes that happen and the first past the post system. It’s a strong argument for PR but there is zero chance of that being offered when Labour has a massive majority. The next five years are already set in stone. Labour in government. The country still in a mess. Higher taxes. The Tories splitting and needing to rebuild quickly. Farage in a regular froth but impotent. It’s 2029 that will be interesting and potentially dangerous. That depends on the Tories getting a grip on themselves.

Happy that our electorate are considered so easy to manipulate? No. It’s sad, but obviously someone thinks so or they would’nt make the effort would they? Unfortunately I am forced to agree with them. There is a lot of evidence which suggests that people are easily swayed by bs. Not just here. It’s worse in the USA.
