This is very kind of you to address me in such a fashion, although I do not view myself in such a light.

Regards "3 are relegated", I fail to comprehend the rationale behind this commend. Those with greater mental acuity than 'Yours truly' will have understood but alas I am a limited clunker.

Even in my lothario days, I never resorted to seeking out such ladies, accordingly I cannot comment as to the rapidity of the lowering of their undergarments.

I bow down to the stately ornament that is Syd who is PL, I am Non-League at best.

I do not agree with continually changing Managers but Viera fails to learn from his mistakes and he is reactive not proactive - bad managerial traits.
I disagree with you on other points currently.
We are right in it and I cannot see where our next points will come from.
We look frail and lacking in confidence as well.
Finally - we look more like a Hodgson team as the games continue.

That's ok, nobody is expected to agree on other's opinions. And I understand why some people don't think Vieira is up to the job, it's just that the job is not about playing like we used to, nicking games, counter attacking, it's about changing the way we play. We don't have the right mentality for that at the moment, but if we give up now there will be no change. I for one hope we can become a team that plays with freedom, like Arsenal or B&HA, who both had faith in the new manager's style of play, even if the fans didn't like it. And they didn't by the way. I'm not saying he is Brian, but he might be.

However, you can't seriously think that we will get no more points. And all the teams below simply can't win every game left. They have to play each other.

We probably have some younger fans who can't remember being relegated. 2005 was the last relegation, and the last time I was seriously worried about going down was 2010 at Hillsborough. But regardless of the historical facts, we get the same hysterics* every year.

Finally, I think the player's confidence and "we look more like a Hodgson team" are linked. It takes time. We will survive this season, and depending on recruitment/development, we may well become fun to watch.

It has just been announced that Southampton have appointed Ruben Selles as manager until the end of the season.
He has been the club's 1st Team Lead Coach this season and he was coach under Hasenhuttl.
He was at the helm when Southampton beat Chelsea 1-0 last weekend.

I think that's a risky appointment IMHO.

S'ton are in a very precarious if not perilous position and it's often the case that interim managers manage a couple good results and bizarrely get appointed off the back of that only to produce headlines reading '1 point in 10 games' or something of that ilk.

Who knows however I could be completely wrong but purely for our own sake, as I hold nothing against S'ton beyond JWP, I certainly hope this proves another schoolboy mistake from their board.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Nice pragmatic post.

things are not always perfect, we are a team physically and mentally in transition. With a group of young players who are learning how to grind out points.

ITs not as pretty as we want, but as you said, Brighton and Arsenal fans, both wanted their managers sacked, and I bet they are very glad they didnt.

It is the model of plausibility that Brentford supporters wanted Thomas Frank to be shown the door after he succeeded Dean Smith and lost 8 of his first 10 PL games.

Tim - I am not really after Viera going but I am more than worried - having said that we are just as likely to beat Liverpool tomorrow!
We will get more points of course but the more we lose and let in these silly goals than the more our mindset will change for the worse.
Losing becomes a habit!
