Most of the last three pages have nothing whatsoever to do with the upcoming US Presidential election. May I suggest that you start your own threads on: Life in the Fens - Weird or Wonderful?, and The Personal History of Wisbech Eagle - 100 thing you never knew. then the rest can get on talking about the topic Thanks!

It has drifted offline a little hasn't it! I trust those who always seek to make things personal take note of your request. I am very happy to concentrate on the election as it's importance cannot be overstated.

This election is quite a test for the pollsters....another one. Those who conduct the polls disagree and say it's quite different. They have refined their techniques. All polls, with some slight variations, tell the same story. The gap has been steady for a long time as people have made up their minds already on whether they are for, or against, Trump. Trump is the issue. However hard the GOP tries to make it Biden doesn't seem to shift that. The choice is Trump or no Trump. Trump only scraped over the line in 2016 because of Clinton's unpopularity and the usual "change must be good" sentiment. Clinton isn't involved, despite Trump's desperate attempts to drag her name back in and the "let's change" sentiment is against him. My guess is if the 2016 race was run again now that Clinton would actually win. Enough have seen the reality of Trump to make that difference. That gap is therefore real and the polls accurate.

What will the press cover when Trump isn't President? There won't be much of an audience interest in Biden having a mug of Horlicks and a nap in the Oval Office.

Hopefully they will be celebrating the USA resuming it's place as the leader of the free world and standing up for democracy, rather than defending and accommodating dictators. Hopefully they will put the health of all her people higher than the wealth of a few. It has nothing to do with the left, which is anyway really not a relevant force in the USA. It has everything to do with decency and a sense of moral purpose.

How stupid a statement can get has just been proven. Democracy in the usa will end if trump loses. I hope you will come on and tell us how wrong you were for backing the dems.
