Try 10 years plus, according to a planner in Croydon Council, may never get off ground.

Which is why the HF are doing it now rather than ‘waiting 2-3 years.’

Did the club (Parish) day why don’t they wait in the club statement? That didn’t hold it they did.,

This is the debate, right:

Those saying the club should accommodate the singing section:
--will improve atmosphere
--there are greater injustices in the world
--it's the club's prerogative

Those saying the club shouldn't accommodate the singing section:
--it unfairly places one group of fans over another
--the atmosphere isn't being too impacted
--it penalises some of our most loyal fans
--it will hugely disrupt the wider LH
--it rewards the HF for withholding their vocal support and threatening the club
--the HF coukd just have waited until the old stand is expanded

what points, in very simple language, did I miss?

You missed the fact that we already had a singing section but the "singers" decided that they didn't want that bit of real estate any more and wanted to move

No room to grow and the atmosphere was declining in the area they were in and couldn’t get more vocal people in. The club could’ve addressed this by filling in the corner until the new stand is ready in 2-3...... 10+ years time.

I would change 1 word "could've" to should have.

There is no real idea of the demand for the singing section as a result of the clubs failure to fully ascertain the views of existing season ticket holders. The Club has allocated 400 seats to the section is that too many or too few? Keeping the singing section in the corner had all sorts of benefits not least it affects fewer season tickets and is far less likely to upset authorities.

I think if this dispute had never happened the new stand would be now far more advanced. The authorities will now wait to see how the club manages the regulations before allowing it to move forward

I doubt it makes the slight slightest bit of difference to date.

A genuine question- has anyone who is NOT effected contacted the club to let them know whether they support or oppose the proposed way of going ahead with the singing section?

Yes, I have. I’ve registered my interest to try and get a ST in the new section and have congratulated them on the decision. No response though.

Yes, I will be attending a forum next Tuesday with my friend "Wilf King" who is an affected Block E season ticket holder.

I am an Arthur Wait season holder but feel strongly that the club have acted appallingly, without going into all the stuff on the last 60-odd pages on this issue.

I am only speaking unofficially here but from what I am told by some Block E "evictees" they feel it is a done deal but they might as well shout loudly and try to get as good a compensation package as possible.

I've edited this to include some responses.

Why don’t they wait for the new stand in 2-3 years vs it could years and years away. 10 years?

Yep. I wonder if Parish stumps up the £250k Scudamore payment from club funds. That’ll hurt him too. Nearly £50,000, 18% is his.

Yes, I wrote to say I thought the way they are going about this is against the whole ethos of the club. I’m pretty sure my letter was not even read as in reply I only received the standard email that the E400 got saying I would be invited to an open day, though I made it clear I was not affected!
