I do. And I’m an old fart with no affiliation to the HF.

The decision should have been based on what is in the best interests of the club, balanced against the prejudice to the fans who need to make way.

People have eloquently made the case for the HF in this thread. No one is suggesting that the 100 odd HF are ‘better’ supporters. But they are more influential that any random bunch of season ticket holders, on and off the pitch, and their unique value as an organised and effective force should be recognised.

Balance their impact on the atmosphere at SP and our reputation in the game against the harm that will be done to the displaced. No one is denying those fans the right to retain a season ticket in the Holmesdale. They will just be sitting in a different seat. The prejudice is minimal.

Sometimes we have to act in the interests of the common good and if that means shifting a few fans then so be it.

We don’t have the finances to compete with the big boys in terms of winning silverware. But we can and do outperform them in the stands. I enjoy belonging to a club whose support is the envy of the league and has become a defining feature of ‘being Palace’. I will be very sad if this unique attribute, one that sets us apart from the rest, is needlessly thrown away.

I recognise that to some extent I bask in the reflected glory of the HF. I suspect there are others on here that do so too, but without due acknowledgment to the people concerned.

I respect and applaud the efforts of the HF. I implore any of their number who happens to read this to build bridges and be the bigger man - for the benefit of our beloved club and all Palace fans everywhere.

They are on general sale (tickets at the front of block b) so not season ticket holders. I have so far avoided sitting there as it would feel a bit weird. Real shame the way things have gone.
