As you know through your broad reading, the division of Kashmir was not popular originally. Many Indian Kashmiris would like all of Kashmir to become pakistani. It is blindingly obvious that is why they were chanting pakistan. And if you listen to the people interviewed it appears they are indeed Indian Kashmiris. Some seem to hold rather impressive jobs in the UK. Those that I know, who feel very strongly about this, include doctors, dentists and investment bankers. Based and practising in Croydon too. Yeah, I'm sure London is just full of 'Indian Kashmiris'....thousands of em.....I'm sure they wouldn't think very highly of you calling them Indian at all. You are doing the same joke labelling that you complain about for yourself labelling thousands of pakistanis as 'Indian Kashmiris'.....The vast majority there are no doubt from 'British' families or here from pakistan generally. Calling a pakistani in Kashmir an 'Indian' is the same as calling non whites in England who won't identify as English, 'English' just because of the technicality.....which they don't use. I've noticed that rather than take your medicine and admit mistakes you will continue to compound them. I tend to regard you more favourably than others but this is just plain silly.

It appears you didn't realise that was supposed to be comedy I must remember to blame the Methodists for the next truck of peace. It's a good sketch....and like most good comedy there's a core of truth in there. However, maybe you'd reflect upon that when discussing that other older Abrahamic religion. Oh...and some pakistanis are atheists....just to let you know.....just not publicly in pakistan. Edited by Stirlingsays (19 Aug 2019 9.31pm)

That article turns out far funnier than the actual joke.....yep, Britain has fallen to that despicable generation of social liberals and their self entitled and self obsessed kids and our reputation for comedy has fallen like a stone......All our best stuff is now from non infected previous generations. Edited by Stirlingsays (19 Aug 2019 9.59pm) I went to see Jerry Sadowitz in Edinburgh last weekend - he really hasn’t bought into the PC wave. There were some people there who looked quite shell shocked at the end.

What on Earth are you on about? Jammu and Kashmir split three ways, the majority belongs to India, then pakistan and some China. So you have Indian Kashmiris, pakistani Kashmiris and Chinese Kashmiris. Many would like to see reintegration. But at the moment someone born in Indian Kashmir is Indian. I thought you said you understood the situation. The Indian Kashmiri diaspora in the UK is small. I may be wrong but believe many of the protesters were from that diaspora. They may well also have included pakistanis who have never agreed with the original division of Kashmir. Kashmir has become a highly symbolic cause. As previously stated I know a small number of Indian Kashmiris. They have never been pakistani. Kashmir wasn’t originally pakistani before being divided. Edited by Mapletree (19 Aug 2019 10.31pm)

Edited by Mapletree (19 Aug 2019 10.31pm) Where you are born does not define a person in the sense you have been using.....it just doesn't. As stated, there are plenty of people born in England...thanks to a mix of social and neo liberal politics.....who don't identify as English....it's a quickly increasing percent of the population. Rudyard Kipling was born in India.....Do you regard him as Indian? David Gower was born in India as was Spike Milligan, Joanna Lumley and Cliff Richard. Keanu Reeves was born in the Lebanon.....Bruce Willis in Germany. None of them are those nationalities......pakistanis born in Kashmir, regardless of which divide they are on are pakistanis....not Indians. Identity is both genetic and cultural....genetically they have little difference but culturally for the majority you'd do well to find a larger gulf. This is a bit surreal....it falls to me to defend the national heritage of pakistanis. Edited by Stirlingsays (19 Aug 2019 10.51pm)

In what universe are Indians, born in India, who may well have never entered pakistan, who have Indian parents and who have no pakistani antecedents pakistani? 70% of the population of Kashmir and Jammu is Indian. They always have been.
