Nice one Moose. Fleet St & Strand were similarly stopped. I have never heard London so quiet. It was an awesome display of strength - "inspiring" is the right word. It puts everything else in its true perspective. Edited by halfmanhalfslug (14 Jul 2005 1:42pm)

Plenty of people out at London Wall, thought the cabbies could have stopped for 2 minutes though.

I am going on holiday to Turkey this year. If I wear a fez I will be arrested or beaten as it is an insult. In the UK We should as humans be tolerant this is not a purely white thing, if people do not want to intergarte that is up to them that is what makes us a free society, but you must respect the laws & values of those around you & not force your opions on them. Just to confirm: in most tourist resorts going topless is completely normal. Wearing a fez is not an insult, the fez was banned by Kemal Ataturk for the same reasons the French have banned headscarves. It was part of his drive for secularisation and to move away from the Osmanli past. I get the gist of what you are saying and I can see your point, but we are not in Turkey, there fore you are not really comparing like with like. I think the comparisons within Britain do have some validity.

Roughly 30 children were killed in a suicide bomb attack in Iraq yesterday. CHILDREN. How low do they have to go before someone questions whether this really is Godly behaviour? How twisted does their sense of morality and reality have to be, to enable them to carry out such an act? Just when you think you've seen it all eh.
