Things are much tighter throughout the league this season, both top and bottom, which could make for an interesting run in. If we keep everyone fit then we are a solid unit capable of grinding out points, as we've shown in some tough games (with only one defeat in our last five games). A win from anywhere would be massive right now, but one against Liverpool would be really good. If we could get to 30 points by the end of March then that would put us in a strong position as we only have one game left against one of the big 6 in our final 10 games. Given we have a 63% win percentage against teams below us this season the odds are in our favour.

We have a bit of a gap between Palace and the bottom three, but this could slip away with a few more losses. We're in a perilous position, and ou pr own form has to improve dramatically. In another couple of weeks Wilf should be starting, which should make a difference and Lokonga and Ahamada should be providing more midfield energy and solidity. The same with Anderson. This is a long winded way of saying I think we'll stay up, but it could go down to the last couple of games..

My gut feeling is that it won't be pretty, there will be a few oohs and perhaps uh-ohs along the way but we'll somewhat stumble to a 11-17th place finish.

I think to not acknowledge the possibility of us getting through to April in an alright state and then picking up a few points in easier games, in what might constitute evidence for just missing out on a 'European push', is as ridiculous as not acknowledging things aren't great, we haven't won this year and still with a tough run in we could be bang in trouble soon, desperately needing to fight our way out to survive.

L'pool, City, BHA and Arsenal 4 of our 5 next games. The fifth is Villa and if we don't win that I think we could start really sweating. Brentford will look far more disastrous, the team perhaps further deflated and PV almost completely out of the door.

Up until April I am just hoping we keep our heads above water and then the real test will be performing and getting results from the more reasonable games to see us through another season. There are no guarantees however and I completely empathise with those displaying concern if not panic.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

This is 100% what we need to be looking at right now. Can we grind out 4 points over the next 5 games to get us to the 30pt mark?

We've then got 10 fixtures where you'd fancy us to have a chance in all of them.

Basically as defeatist as it is, mirror the form of the last 5 games. That's good enough and keeps us moving forward.

I am not really 'Au Fait' with the reaction of Leeds supporters after the appointment of Javi Gracia but perhaps it was not too favourable.

He was not first choice and his record at his last 4 clubs in Europe show that his clubs lost more than they won but of course there could have been extenuating circumstances.
At Watford he took up the reins when they were 10th after 24 games and they finished in 14th place. The following season they finished 11th but reached the FA Cup final.
He was sacked the next season after 4 games with Watford bottom of the table.

I am beginning to entertain the thoughts that he will not save Leeds from the dreaded drop.

I think you're right Willo. Palace's form hasn't been great, but we keep picking up points through bore draws. None of the teams below us are storming up the table. Who knows, WetSpam might get relegated but I don't think Palace will.

They dont seem too happy thinking he will have to do till the end of the season as they couldn't get anyone else . Gracia hasn't been given a work permit yet so it might not even happen .

He is a long ball merchant , described as a Dyche with Spanish flair ,ie lump it forward without a decent centre forward . He nearly got away with it with Troy Deeney he wont with Patrick Bamford .
They are nailed on relegated for me with Bournmouth . The last place is anyones from us down . Though I expect us to finish well clear .

The 'Mood music' is that Gracia will receive a work permit, however it is expected that Interim Manager Michael Skubala will be at the helm for their home clash against Southampton this weekend.

No doubt he will get his permit eventually , these things take time for some reason .
It will be a short stint though IMO

One can only speculate as to the reaction of our supporters had we appointed Javi Gracia in similar circumstances.
I would hazard a guess that the overall view would not have been one of positivity !

If Schlupp and Ayew pick up injuries then we're doomed, PV will have to come up with a Plan C.

I'd love to see what PV's 'Plan C' might turn out to be but anything minus those two would likely be an improvement.

Perhaps, just maybe, we may discover sooner rather than later.

Plan A - 4-3-3 Playing it square amongst the back 4 for long periods with the occasional ball forward to ensure the front 3 haven't fallen asleep.
Plan B - Royball, no ifs no buts.
Plan C - Zaha's suggestion - kick and chase. "Remember when as a kid you'd play over the park and the game would start and all 35 kids would chase after the ball? Happy days! I suggested it to the gaffer and he thought it might work."
