I have come out of retirement for one post only. I can't believe my eyes when I am seeing such shortsightedness and impulsive comments. Roy Hodsgon's football has not been easy on the eye at all in recent years but guess what? We are celebrating our 7th Season this year in the premier league and we WILL be celebrating our 8th season in the premier league once Roy keeps us up once again, oh and that's for the 4th time in a row, the most of any manager in our history. The man deserves a flipping knighthood considering the dismal financial backing he has been given and how he has consistently picked up results in the best league in the world. You want beautiful, easy on the eye flowing football? Well welcome to the championship crystal palace. WE ARE A COUNTER ATTACKING TEAM WE ARE NOT THAT GOOD ON THE BALL, FACE IT. One of the premier league's very best teams on the break over the last 7 seasons and Roy knows this and utilises his tactics to suit this obvious fact. Be careful what you wish for. This is not to say Roy's tenure is not coming to an end, he is 73, it wouldn't take a genius to know that he hasn't got long left. But good lord what a job he has done here. Parish is not stupid, he knows time is ticking and im sure there are some contingencies in progress, because this will more than likely see a major shift in tactical setup due to a departure of a certain Wilfried Zaha looking the ever more likely. Give the man a break palace fans, respect your elders, stop freaking out and let him do what he does best. Keeping us in the premier league. ROY IN! In the interests of balance it is refreshing to see a viewpoint which is at variance with the general opinion.

Hodgson has an ageing squad, the oldest in the PL, no creativity in those central midfield areas and strikers who have lost the art of goalscoring. Without Zaha we are the sinking Titanic, with him we go up and down the waves without really going anywhere, he really should've been sold long before that 0-0 opening game against Everton when he started his pissed off last season tantrum, he needs to go because we are never going to improve the quality we need so desperately throughout our squad, relying on him results in our whole set up ..relying on him.

I've given up trying to inform the fans on here who want to see us playing like Wenger's Arsenal with the words you've used, you're very very very correct but some fans have made their minds up and that is that.

The general opinion is really just one of frustration after a game of football where we should've got at least one point in a game riddled with poor passing and sloppy positioning from both sides and then decided at the death by the one and only quality striker on show.

The stats don't lie. Palace without Zaha is unlikely to win. The issue is why we have become a team so reliant on one player. It's not obvious that Zaha would walk into the starting XI of any Premiership top six club, but if his heart's not in it any more at Palace, then plan for life without him.

I am completely fed up with our recent performances, we just cannot string together any sort of form. As for Roy, well he is likely to keep us up this season but as for the future I just don't know. Anybody fancy giving Eddie Howe a go if he is interested???

And just because you keep posting the same thing Tickled doesn’t mean you are right. You feel you have the moral high ground but I’m afraid football matches have nothing to do with morals and if the last half a seasons stats don’t worry you then nothing will.

Our squad worries me greatly, our manager doesn't.

Any manager is only six games or so from the sack and our form over this last few games speaks for itself particularly against the back drop of end of last season. But let’s be honest we’re a one man show. I think he’ll be under huge pressure if we fail to beat West Brom. And yes WBA are capable of beating us in current form
