Sorry but I kinda lost the plot on this thread, did we decide which Tom Robinson song is the best? Was it Glad to be Gay or 2 4 6 8 Motorway? Edited by Badger11 (16 Jun 2018 11.48am)

A Muslim activist who hit a police officer with his walking stick at a Tommy Robinson rally in Hyde Park has escaped with a suspended sentence. The officer suffered from post traumatic stress and his injury was so bad his children refused to walk to school with him. Tommy Robinson campaigning against Islamic gang rapes....sentenced to 13 months. Then moved to Leicester prison with a 1 in 3 Islamic population, which I would suggest is risking his life.

I don't have a problem with the sentence given the defendants circumstances and previous good record. I do have a problem that he pleaded not guilty (he wrote a letter of apology to the officer). I think the judge should have penalised him for that.

Do you need another reminder of what he actually got sentenced (and pleaded guilty) for?

With respect, you're not qualified to give that opinion. D-

You appear to think that just because a crime was committed and there was an admission of guilt that it eliminates the possibility of political manipulation. I assume you agree that the sentence for the assault was purely political.

So he actually hit an officer which is worse ABH carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine not exceeding the statutory maximum. For GBH, if you are convicted under section 20 in a Crown Court, the maximum penalty is five years’ imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine.
