If he is half a good manager as he was player, call him up! Well he isn't. Hasn't done anything since 2006.

The idea that Dyche won't attract big names is farcical. Footballers talk and Dyche is well known now for being a very good coach. Plus, at the end of the day money and location play a more important role in acquiring players. As a London club we're lucky with location. Can't believe people writing off Dyche as an option. If his name was Roberto DiDychio we'd be falling over ourselves to get him. I don't give a flying what the name of the next manager is or where he comes from; it's totally irrelevant. But a "very good coach" doesn't pick up just seven points away from home. His reputation seems to largely result from his being able to be promoted, relegated and promoted again; I'd prefer to appoint someone who won't be relegated in the first place. There's no evidence that he would attract big names, or more importantly, be able to manage the ones we have. He's a decent manager who's shown, and been rewarded with, loyalty at one club. He's not what we should be looking for in our fifth season.

Palace players won't have played any matches under him before we need to sign players so how credible is their recommendation?

Completely agree. Roger Schmidt appears to be available. Led RB Salzburg to two titles, led Levurkusen to 3rd and 4th place finishes and is fluent in English. Expressed a desire to want to manage in the PL. Why we aren't all over this, I'll never know.

I think you're stretching credibility to the limit there Is Parish really still in Spain? Why isn't he here interviewing managerial candidates?

Should be interviewed in my opinion. Brilliant manager and knows the game inside out and is tactically very good. The last good manager England had. A good choice but does he want to get back into management?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sean Dyche is the best man for the job!' by Guntrisoft As a statement of intent we'd be making it known that we're happy with lower mid-table and a flirt with relegation. No thanks!
Cynic or realist? It's a fine line! |
