Good luck with everything Steve and I'm praying you're considering Steve Coppell for a role in the new set-up.

I'll second that

I'm not sure. We can't look to the past to sort this out - and Sir Steve has hardly set the world alight recently.

Its not about looking to the past or not, I just doubt if any of the 10 household name applicants are better managers than Steve Coppell.

I get what you mean, and my 'looking to the past' comment was a bit irrelevant TBH. I just meant that Coppell hasn't been that brilliant recently, and he quit just months into a job - not the stability we need.

Steve,

Does the Board have clear criteria for the kind of manager you are looking for? Without obviously naming names, are any of your list clearly favourites?

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand!

My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

He has never let us down ;-) I'd walk on hot coals to get him back, even if it were for him to oversee a young manager. To have such an accomplished football manager available AND with a passion for Palace is far too good an opportunity to ignore for me (and for Mr Parish I hope!).

George Courtney, the World Cup referee, everyone is looking at him. When will he blow....?

Much as I love Coppell to comeback to Palace its not going to happen as I recall he has now retired from football management, we need to move forward now and not go 20 years back.
I would like a young fresh manager like the Hughton`s or Howe`s to be giving the chance.
Remember Steve Coppell first came to Selhurst aged 28, we have a good squad of players but not fulfiling their potential at times and tomorrow the players now have to stand and be counted in our quest to stay in this league.

Hi CPFC2010,

I'm just scrolling down from yesterday and seen some people suggest Gary Johnson.

Please no! someone who laughed at us on SSN when we went into admin is not welcome at SP!

Personally I think Tidsdale at Exeter would be an inspired choice.

Hi Steve,

Would you ever consider taking someone on with no real experience in football management?

Sorry if posted before cba to read 40 odd pages!

Hi steve happy new year,

on the manager front i was never keen on GB but heres an idea how about an irish man who in his first role took a team from campionship to winning with 2 games to spare and lost his job for personal reasons as his performance was was a good 11th position in BPL, This man is Chris Houghton, with DF by is side
